Spooky Scary Skeletons!
Loki had no idea if any other places were having Halloween bashes, but that wasn't gonna stop him from having his fun! Pub-crawls were a thing if that were the case! The Viper's Pit had been decked out in the spirit of the season, the drinks, boozy and non were themed for the holiday, and aside from the magically drugged glitter one could play with down in the club, there were all manner of edibles.
While the changes were mild inside the building itself, the field had undergone the most changes, from the disappearance of the arena and bathhouse to the forests normally vaguely in the middle distance having been drawn in much closer, ringing a large open field where several bonfires were crackling merrily, each stocked with comfortable places to sit, as well as marshmallows, skewers, and several options for meats to be grilled over an open flame. To the east of the clearing was an expansive-looking corn maze, and standing vigil over it from somewhere in the vague center was a large Victorian-looking house. Anyone who wanted to go snooping would find the maze and home both charmingly haunted by costumed staff looking forward to the chance to scare the pants off some unsuspecting partygoers.
Nothing about the place seems off, or strange. Bats fly about overhead, the moon is large and positioned quite perfectly to make the haunted house look charmingly spooky, and the woods that spread around the clearing are just begging for people to dare to creep down it's paths, jumping at the shrieks that echo from the maze, or just their own imaginations running away with them. Not that there seems to be anything scarier than some mild-mannered wild-life like the owls hooting in the trees- it seems the woods are more designed for a nice nighttime stroll for folks who might want a bit of quiet than anything.
Of course everyone wore costumes. They did right? It's a costume party after all! And if anyone didn't have one, the staff of the bar were quite happy to furnish some of the spares they had on hand, even if it might be something so simple as an animal headband, a pair of wings, or a sheriff's badge and toy gun.
No one was quite certain when things started becoming weirder. Not specifically, and no one was sure why it had happened, given the first sign of things going wrong? Was one of the poor unsuspecting waiters who'd been wearing a cute little bear headband? Was suddenly now a very large, and very confused grizzly bear in a darling little vest trying to balance the tray he'd been carrying on one paw, and attempting to sort out how to get all the drinks off without tipping them onto the customers, who were now a table of animals of varying sizes and shapes, as well as one very bewildered knight, whose plastic armor was suddenly much more realistic and cumbersome.
And from the yelps of surprise and alarm echoing quickly through the Pit and the yard, it was clear this was not an isolated incident.
((ooc: Costume bash! OOC info is here leave any questions in there! Feel free to tag either pre or post-costume realism! For toplevels please use the Trick Or Treat system! If you're just wanting cute fluff or maybe minor spooky stuff, just leave 'Treat' in your toplevel's subject line. If you're here for scary chases and angst, or being a monster to hunt folks for fun (keeping in mind the AVF is in effect!) just post 'Trick'! If you're open to both just put both in! Hopefully this'll make it easier to match up what folks are hoping to play with here even if you're going in otherwise blind. The costumes will revert come sunrise with no ill effects- happy hauntings!))

Definitely a Treat... and sometimes trick
Then the magic happened. And Harley transformed into a real Sailor Senshi of Love. Her pet hyena, Bruce, who was at her side at the time also transformed into a cute adaptation.
"I am Sailor Quinn! Champion of Justice! Defender of the light!" And she is completely convinced that this is who she is now. "Fighting evil by moonlight, winning love by daylight, never running from a real fight, who needs my help?"
no subject
But something about Harley herself kept drawing his attention, and after spending a little time fussing over Bruce, he stood up and cocked his head to one side, removing a brooch from his choker.
"I don't know why...but I feel compelled to give you jewellery? Maybe it'll do something...fun? This is weird."
no subject
Sailor Quinn accepts the brooch with a understanding nod. "With this token of your friendship... I will be brave enough to face the darkness that threatens those around us."

The words are coming from a holoshow that Ravage used to watch when he was little more than a sparkling, but he doesn't remember this consciously. He and Nightstalker used to like the show because the beastformer got to be almost as important as the pretty upper caste magical bot who was the star of the thing.
no subject
And Sailor Quinn strikes a sailor pose. Upbeat music plays in the background.
no subject
Forgetting that he is a humanoid, he jumps and pounces, and somehow manages not to fall on his face as he heads off to do...whatever it is he thinks he is going to do now.
Magic duel? Magic duel!
The Uchiwa twins were no longer just dressed as students from the Harry Potter books. Now they had all of the spells, knowledge and experience of Hogwarts fifth years - for better or worse. Isamu was decked out in Ravenclaw robes and had the cleverness to match. Minoru was in Slytherin green, complete with a snake around his neck - that he could even talk to in parseltongue.
(And if Minoru happened to be mistaken for a stereotypical dark wizard in training, resulting in an anime-inspired magical battle to bring him back to the side of good and love, all’s well that ends well?)
no subject
"I... Sailor Quinn... Guardian of Light... will make sure that your plan won't succeed."
"Moooooooon Tiara Action!" Sailor Quinn reached up and removed the small crown that adored her head, transforming it into a disk of energy, and hurled it towards Minoru. With the anti-violence field in place... the attack will miss... unless Minoru wants to engage in the battle in return.
no subject
But when that magical disc came hurling toward him, he pulled out his wand with all the speed you’d expect from somebody in dueling club.
“Look out!” Isamu shouted, ducking behind his brother.
“Protego!” He blocked the disc away. Minoru did not seek out violence, but he would defend himself. “What was that?”
“A concentrated beam of magical energy of an unknown origin that was lobbed at your head with at least some degree of malicious intent.” Isamu answered rapidly in a single breath.
“I know that part! I was asking her, not you!”
no subject
Harley pulls out a small wand, and starts twirling, and part way into her Senshi attack, says... "Rainbooooooow Mooooooon Heart Ache!"
The magical energy takes the form of rainbows and hearts this time.
no subject
"Movement? You got it." Minoru put up a more powerful shield charm this time, but followed it with an offensive spell this time. He pointed his wand toward her feet and flicked it in the appropriate movements as he shouted, "Tarantallegra!"
If the spell made it through her defenses, Harley's legs would begin dancing uncontrollably.
Isamu finally had his wand out as well, ready with a tripping jinx.
no subject
"Moon Healing Escalation!" And as an added bonus of a healing spell, the Sailor Senshi attack was designed to purify monsters back to their human form.
no subject
Minoru was not to be deterred.
"Levicorpus!" he shouted, trying to get her off the ground. And he followed it with "Rictusempra!"
Yup. He used a tickling charm.
no subject
When the tickle charm hits. And this seems to work well.
Sailor Quinn is extremely sensitive to tickling it seems.
no subject
“A tickling charm in magical combat. That’s highly irregular, but surprisingly effective.” Isamu observed.
“Well, I don’t want to hurt her.” Minoru added. “I’m not a dark wizard.”

A few of the individuals who are gathered, and are not totally mind-changed into their costume, do recognize Harley -- as normally she performs an aerial show at the Viper's Pit.

No. War needs only mayhem and fighting to feel complete. Someone who espouses justice certainly isn't going to help with that.
"I'd happily take your help - if you're willing to change your tune." War grins openly at the costumed woman, twirling her flame-licked sword idly in one hand. "This party could use some livening up. What do you say to finding a good fight at my side?"
no subject
"If I must fight you to protect those here tonight... I will!"
no subject
"Then let's battle, oh Guardian, for I am War and I am unstoppable." War raises her sword and drops into a fighting stance as she advances on the other woman. "Come! Fight me and bring all you've got! Your superior reach can't beat me!" Lunging forward, War aims for the base of Sailor Quinn's weapon. It's likely to be sturdy, but if she can knock the hammer away? She'll have a momentary advantage that she can use to sow more chaos among the other party goers standing around them.
no subject
The advantage of her large mallet-sized hammer was that it was very study. And was even sturdier in Sailor Quinn's grasp, when she held both ends of the weapon.
"An unstoppable force can be directed to a new path!"
no subject
"War redirects many things. Men. Hearts. Desires for peace. Give me time, beautiful Guardian, and I can change anything to rain down destruction!"
no subject
no subject
"Peace is an illusion. A respite between battles. Destruction is necessary to stamp out the weak and lift up the powerful. There can be no growth without pain." Sliding one foot out in front of herself, War ducks low and thrusts upward with her sword, aiming toward Sailor Quinn's midsection with full force. The blow likely won't connect, but the point is to cause strife and this fight is well on its way to doing that.
no subject
Sailor Quinn dodges back at the thrust of the sword. She lifts a hand to her tiara, and uses a Senshi spell... "Moooooon Tiara Magic!". The tiara becomes a magical energy weapon at her command, flying towards War with the intent to perhaps knock the warrior back again.
no subject
(A small part of her mind tells that it would be best to back off before either of them get truly hurt, but War dismisses it as easily as a request for mercy. War bends to no one but her master and Sailor Quinn is not that.)
"Ha! You would leave them to their own devices and hide them under your wing like chicks? No one can grow in the shadow of their mother. All must face the world head on!"
Now recovered, War rushes forward again. Rather than her standard attack patterns, she leans into the battle knowledge locked into the mind that is only partially hers. She feigns an attack after coming up Sailor Quinn's side and then drops low, swinging her leg out to catch the Guardian's ankles or knees in a hard sweep. Connected attack or no, it allows War to take a knee and thrust upward with her sword in an effort to keep the other woman off balance.
