To Marion Ravenwood this place was so.. shiny. Everything here looked cleaner than most of the places she’d spent her early years. She’d heard there were areas of the Nexus that were a bit more rough and tumble and frankly thought she’d feel more at home there. Not that having a clean place to live was a bad thing, far from it, but it always seemed like there was more of a place to lose yourself in somewhere slight more disreputable.

She’d engaged in small talk while getting some food from a vendor, the usual chit chat and pleasantries. Marion wasn’t great at that, Abner had dragged her all over the world and there was little time for grooming social niceties into her. She made due and in that upbringing she’d made herself strong and self-reliant. She might not have been a fair damsel but she could take care of herself and where she’d lived that had been what mattered.

Here? Well she hadn’t quite figured out what mattered here yet. Marion chewed thoughtfully on a French fry and looked around at the odd assortment of business and buildings that filled the square. “Yeah, not in Kansas anymore.” But there was a chance here for a new start, hadn’t that been what she was after when he came back into her life. She sent him packing of course, not a chance in hell was she going to just turn over Abner’s prized possession. Not cheap anyway.

But that went straight to hell within a few minutes of seeing him walk out of her door… figured really. Every time Indiana Jones touched her life bad things happened. Her place burned to the ground that night, an insane chase across continents to find ancient ritual sites, her own kidnapping.. twice. Jones was a cataclysm on her life and it seemed like it wouldn’t end. Until she’d walked out a door under Rene Belloq’s guidance and walked into this place.

Was she free? She supposed so. No Nazis, no Jones, no blistering cold or scorching heat. Whatever had decided that she needed to be here this might be the best place for her. And she was over all pretty comfortable to be out of that adventure. Though, she’d thought maybe, just maybe she and Indy had a shot at something again… But it was probably better to cut her losses and move on. He’d done that before.

She finished her food and began walking, it had been good enough to get her by for the time being. But there was another, more pressing need and she turned to the nearest likely looking resident to solve it. "So you look like the type who could answer a question for me, where can a lady get a good drink around here?
