Flowers are a Girl's Best Friend

Both Pamela and Harley were wearing bright red today, as they strolled along the Nexus streets. Pamela was wearing what appeared to be a dress made out of red roses (when said roses were actually still growing and weaving around her green-skinned body.) Pamela sprinkled some seeds into the air, with Harley catching him with a quick little laugh.

Harley was wearing a bright red dress, and was being followed by a few curious birds, that wanted to capture the seeds before winter came.

The woman stopped by one of the Nexus Cafes, where Pamela stopped to check on a few flowers in a nearby planter. Harley watched her with a wistful smile, knowing it would not be long before Pamela left the Nexus to return to the Amazon, where she stayed during the winter months.

Harley held out a hand, allowing a few birds to swoop down and collect a few more seeds from her palm. And stared up at the sky.

"Ya'know…. I have always admired Pam's ability to stop and smell the roses," Harley starts talking to someone who was nearby. "I always went into overdrive, speeding through life, wind in my hair, wearing bright colors and daring outfits, and took so many crazy chances of putting my own life on the line."

"I do not regret any of it. And now, I have so many dear friends, that their concern for me seems unreal. Ya'know?"

"Coming to the Nexus was the craziest thing that ever happened to me. It was the worst thing at times. The best thing at others."

"I need to stop and smell the flowers more often."

"Crazy how a few someone-wonderfuls can change you."

"Tell me about yours. Who is your someone-wonderful? Is it a friend? Family? Lover?" She grins. "Or is it me?" And winks.

Adia giggles. "I'm sure people will appreciate the mimosas, too."

Glancing shyly in Pamela's direction, Adia gives Harley a nod. "Yeah, that'd be great. Um. Is that okay? Cooking with the fruits and vegetables?"

Despite having only met her once before, Adia knows enough about Pamela's connection to plants that she wants to make sure she's respectful. It sounds like it's okay to eat what Pamela offers, anyway.

"No problem," she replies, flashing a brief smile and fidgeting with the strap of her messenger bag. As much as she's heard about Pamela from Harley, the woman is still essentially a stranger to her. It's hard not to be self-conscious, especially considering how elegant Pamela looks in her dress made of living roses. "I, um... we have a garden, where I live, and an apple orchard, too. So I know how to take care of plants and use what's given."

Adia looks between Pamela and Harley in mild confusion. Is there an inside joke that she's missing? "I mean, that's... that'd be awfully generous of you, but you certainly don't have to...?"

An apple tree that could do anything normally un-treelike would definitely stand out in Adia's world, and not in a good way. But she trusts Pamela, at least enough to take her at her word, Harley's reminder non-withstanding.

"That's lovely, Pamela, thank you." Adia gives her a warm smile. "If there's anything I can do for you in return, let me know." Pamela doesn't look like she needs a knitted scarf or a jar of preserves, but Adia is inventive, too. She'll think of something.
