Flowers are a Girl's Best Friend
Both Pamela and Harley were wearing bright red today, as they strolled along the Nexus streets. Pamela was wearing what appeared to be a dress made out of red roses (when said roses were actually still growing and weaving around her green-skinned body.) Pamela sprinkled some seeds into the air, with Harley catching him with a quick little laugh.
Harley was wearing a bright red dress, and was being followed by a few curious birds, that wanted to capture the seeds before winter came.
The woman stopped by one of the Nexus Cafes, where Pamela stopped to check on a few flowers in a nearby planter. Harley watched her with a wistful smile, knowing it would not be long before Pamela left the Nexus to return to the Amazon, where she stayed during the winter months.
Harley held out a hand, allowing a few birds to swoop down and collect a few more seeds from her palm. And stared up at the sky.
"Ya'know…. I have always admired Pam's ability to stop and smell the roses," Harley starts talking to someone who was nearby. "I always went into overdrive, speeding through life, wind in my hair, wearing bright colors and daring outfits, and took so many crazy chances of putting my own life on the line."
"I do not regret any of it. And now, I have so many dear friends, that their concern for me seems unreal. Ya'know?"
"Coming to the Nexus was the craziest thing that ever happened to me. It was the worst thing at times. The best thing at others."
"I need to stop and smell the flowers more often."
"Crazy how a few someone-wonderfuls can change you."
"Tell me about yours. Who is your someone-wonderful? Is it a friend? Family? Lover?" She grins. "Or is it me?" And winks.

The colorful Martians are drawn by the smell of the flowers, and then they notice Harley and her companion. Both of them observe for a while, more curious than anything.
They seem to take a while to remember Harley, but they seem to like the dress, appreciating the red color. "Hello! Greetings! Yip yip yip yip. Dress. Red. Uh huh uh huh."
Blue recognizes Harley first, and gapes in their goofy Martian way. Then they finally decide to try and process the question.
"Friend? Family? Love? Blue and Pink are family."

"I am glad to hear that you are family."
no subject
"Baby is family too," Pink adds.

"I do know." He tells her while come to a stop to watch the birds. He's very close to birds in general. "I spent a long time away from where I belong."
"Life is special to me, all of it." That is the easy answer but he smiles broadly enough that the four eyes, two on each temple, scrunch closed. "Even I pick favorites sometimes but right now, I find love important and the gratitude toward my brother for trusting me."
no subject
"I know how one can pick favorites..." Harley glances over to her shoulder, where Pamela is still distracted. "I am lucky enough to have a handful of favorites myself."
"I don't think we have met! I would have remembered this awesome fashion sense."
"Harley Quinn..." She sticks out a hand.

She draws his eyes toward Pamela and he takes an audible breath at the growing roses. For the angel, her magic is perfection of beauty. "I can see why this one is among your favorites. I think they share something in common with one of my favorites."
He winks at her, full of cheer and brightness.
"No, I have not had the pleasure of meeting you two beautiful young ladies." He takes her hand and unless stopped will kiss it with all the flamboyance of Cassanova. "I'm Rota, the angel of biodiversity."

"Is it cheating if I say you?" The rogue's cheeks flush a light pink color as she winks back at Harley. It's an easy and not entirely untrue answer in Amelia's case. Harley is a special person to her and has been with her through so many things in her life. She can't imagine how different she might be if Harley hadn't been in her life these past few years.
Nodding in Ivy's direction, she smiles. "You and Ivy both have been wonderful to me for years. I've made a few friends on and off over the past few years as well, though I can't say I'm close to any of them." She's lost the person who was most important to her as well, but she won't mention that. Steve is still a very difficult subject for her, even after months of therapy and processing what happened.
After a moment she adds, "Of course there's everyone in Asvera, too. Without all of them, I'd be very lost." She hesitates for a moment, her cheeks darkening a little and her smile warming. "Thor in particular has been wonderful. He's put up with me better than most, even when I've been at my worst."
no subject
Harley perks up at the mention of Asvera. And grins. "Thor is a great guy. He is the best almost-kind-of brother-in-law a girl like me could have."
"I feel blessed that he is part of my family now."
Yes she saw those darkening cheeks. But she knows Amelia well enough not to pry... at least not right now. Less something special gets ruined.

As she takes a step back, she tilts her head curiously. "Part of your family? As in your... I think it's called a "picked" family?" One day she'll remember 'chosen' family, surely! But not today, apparently. "Or is there something else I should know about going on?" She's been hiding away quite a bit these past few months, so it's entirely possible that she missed some sort of announcement.

He came across the two brightly dressed women outside one of the cafe's downtown. The small Ghost hovered a distance away as he pondered the question before he shoved down his hesitation and floated forward. The brim of the hat of his distinctive shell dipped slightly.
"Hi! My someone wonderful is my Guardian, Katiri!" He answered cheerfully. "I had searched for my Guardian for many centuries before I found her. She exceeded any expectations I might have had about what it was like to have a Guardian. I guess you can say we complete each other and life just seems better with her a part of mine."
no subject
"I know a handful of Guardians. Still have to make a favor for one of them... for finding me …." Harley does not know what to get Blaze though.
"I am glad you complete each other. Must be the reason why the Guardians are so good at what they do. They have their Ghosts."

The glam singer stopped and stared for a moment just noticing the bird seed being thrown by one of the women, who seemed to be floral in nature. Was her dress actually made out of roses? How interesting! Hunter himself was wearing a rather bright and colourful outfit himself in leopard print. His favourite. The woman in the bright red dress catching the Swede's eye since he was a fashion designer when not singing on stage.
"I know what you mean about someone wonderful changing you. Having a new boyfriend or lover can do that too."
He smiling fondly whilst thinking of his own little drummer boy back at the hotel room.
no subject
"I love your leopard print. I could see myself wearing something similar."
"With the same revealing touch too..." She laughs and adjusts his labels playfully. Welcome to Harley Quinn not worrying about personal bubbles.

His mind immediately went to Ziggy Stardust, and he couldn’t help but smile.
“I’ve never been interested in anyone, really. Ever. At least not in the way most people are. But Ziggy’s different. He’s sensitive. He’s talented. He’s driven. He’s bold…”
Honestly, Minoru could probably go on. But words were more Isamu’s game and it was really hard to describe in words the kind of mental and emotional intimacy that he had with the Anthean.
“I’ve always been happy just going with the flow. Never really made any big goals. But being around Ziggy, watching him perform… it makes me feel like I can do all kinds of larger than life things too if I put my mind to it. I mean, I made it all the way to Stage 3 on American Ninja Warrior. Heck, I went back to school! That’s crazy!!”

"My lover has his moments of boldness and brashness. But he also has moments of sensitivity and quiet reflection. There are times when we are nothing alike... but we still share each other worries and hardships all the same."
"Really? We have that show in my world. Stage 3 is a big achievement."
"Sounds like you would be someone who could even challenge me..."

"Nyoka ya Mpembe. I don't know that he could make me feel quite so much like a princess, but I'd dress up to go out with him."
He nods his head to the pair, especially so to Pamela.
"Harley talks about you like you're a god. I'm Psycho Mantis, and your woman is easily one of the most interesting people I've ever met."
no subject
"Awwww thanks Mantis! I love to hear compliments like that." Harley grins.

"Hi, Harley. Hi, Pamela." She gives the redhead a shy wave before returning most of her attention to Harley. "I think I could talk about the Nexus in exactly the same way you did. It's given me so many wonderful friends, you especially. And there's my people back home, too. Caspar, of course, but my friends from the Chiron, and Caspar's sister and her husband and daughter. We've made ourselves a little family."
Speaking of which, she looks around, but doesn't see anyone else from Harley's gang (for lack of a better word). "How are your friends that you brought to the Nexus? Are they doing okay?"
no subject
Harley grins. "It helps that none of them have to worry about the nano bombs anymore. Thanks to other people in the Nexus."

The angel was now sauntering up to meet Harley and her plant-based friend. Pamela, wasn't it? Balthazar had met the Suicide Squad before when King Shark had first arrived to the Nexus. As for her question the angel beamed and knew the answer to that.
"Someone wonderful? Oh, that would have to be my Jack. He's my world. That and his adorable children and family he has back on his world. In all my millions of years within existence he has to be my special one."

"I never thought I would have a pseudo family. But now that I do... I can not imagine my life without Loki or his children either."

"You know, you two are making me jealous that mine's stuck on the west coast for a bit. I still can't believe his not dad actually grounded him." Worse is that he's actually staying put. When he's done she's determined to give Roy Harper a piece of her mind. Until then, she's going to just tease the hell out of her brothers and their lovers.
"Though, when he isn't stuck there, he brightens up the dreary boring city." She added.

It chirps back a reply that mostly has to do with seeds and flock and fading summer's light.
"As for myself, I've known my share of wonderful someones," he says, tucking his hair behind one ear and looking up at the two women with a softer smile. "I tend to outlast romances." One of the sharpest double-edged benefits of immortality; every gift comes with a price. "But every now and then I'm lucky enough to find a truly excellent friend." His friendships, like his romances, tend to require adaptability.
He can't quite take his eyes off Pamela's dress, particularly the way the stems keep subtly bending and shifting and rearranging themselves. It reminds him very much of the fashions favored by plenty of high fey Seelie at court.
"I don't think I've had the pleasure," he says. "They call me Robin."
no subject
"We haven't? We will fix that. I'm Harley Quinn."
"And that..." She points at Pamela, who is helping a flower to bloom with her touch. Spreading the last few petals, before it must fall to winter. "Is my Best Friend Pamela Isley."
