Some (Or Too Many?) Thoughts

It's been some time since the knight has shown his face in the Plaza to ask a question. With all of the Fallen around and comfortably filling the roles of family members, teachers and friends within the Nexus, Galahad has never found himself at a loss for listening ears and good advice. His question today is one that any of his friends would address happily, he's sure, but he doesn't know if their ears are the best ones for it.

"Do you ever wonder if your time in this place has taken you too far from the person you used to be?" Oh, that sounds worse than he means it to, doesn't it? Time for a quick backpedal. "I don't regret the man I've become, but ... I don't fit into the world I came from anymore, either. People who were once dear friends, I now relate to differently because of how I've changed."

Many of the peoples in Albion would call that kind of psychic and moral shifting corruption, but it doesn't feel that way. A great deal of good has come from the connections he's made, and he hasn't ever been made to feel as though he's had to abandon the core of what feels right, and important to him in life. The application's just... shifted? It's a strange and confusing thing to try and wrap his mind around.

"How do you reconcile yourself with a world you no longer fit into the way you once did?"

Jack rarely finds himself with enough time to relax anywhere but today he is sitting in the Plaza with Diamond curled up beneath his chair. The white dog barely noticing the voices or people around. He's smoking while watching the man who seems overly concerned about change.

"There's no prize for fitting in, darling, only a gilded cage that acceptance molds to look like freedom." He's interested in this line of questioning because of how it mirrors ideas and questions people have about the Ministry vs opposition at home.

"I've never fit in at home but your question is important." Jack sits up to give the young man more consideration, turning his head so the good eye has a better view. "Were you a different person before or were you always this person without the freedom or courage to show it?"

Jack sighed out a trail of smoke while shrugging. "I don't know if the Nexus is the culprit. In Hunger City and my world, the government causes this alienation between fitting thier standards and being an individual without traveling anywhere. Luckily here there's no one watching your every move to exact punishment for straying from expected status quo in this place."
