Royal Rescue Adoptions
The Plaza was quiet.
Was, being the operative word, as the putputput of tiny motorcycle engines preceded the sight of said little bikes being ridden by a small cadre of fluffy, feathery raptors. Most of the motorcycles were hauling wagons, each bearing a load of some manner of animal kennel, and they stopped their little caravan near the fountain. All five raptors hopped from their rides and scurried to work- undoing covers so the little kennels they'd towed were visible, Princess and Clementine busily hanging a sign on the edge of the fountain.
'Roial Rezku Adoptonz'
And sure enough each kennel had different animals inside- the sounds of cats out of one, another full of chirping and fluttering. Another few were quiet, but suddenly the largest kennel had a puppy sitting atop it, a colorful bow on it's collar, tail wagging enthusiastically.
Princess gave the pup an uncertain look but... well it was staying around them, and how could they stop it anyways? So she just left the others to making sure the animals all had their food and water while she waddled towards the nearest person with an excited little 'wook'
"Come see? Come make friends?" That was how adoption worked right? People fell wildly in love with a new friend and took them home! She was So Good at this!

Paul looks closely at Princess. He knows what a dinosaur is from befriending I. rex - this one, though, is much smaller and much fluffier. He's not particularly scared of claws and teeth, either. He kneels to eye level to speak with what he assumes is the lead velociraptor. Since she can speak with humans, that will help.
Having a bird will make carrying messages easier, and he's fond of them anyway, so Paul quickly decides which animal he'd like. The cats and dogs are cute, but they aren't where his interest lies. He tilts his head, listening to the chirping and fluttering. Then he smiles and turns to Princess and her pack with a smile.
"What kinds of birds are in there? I can hear them - I'd be happy to care for one, but I'd like to see what's available so I can choose."

Tangerine came trotting over when they saw what was going on, a clipboard in feathery little paws being offered over. Thankfully they'd gotten someone to help make the paperwork- just a simple name and contact info, but who even knew how the raptors would have spelled that looking at their sign.
no subject
He accepts the clipboard, writing down his name and PINpoint information to begin the adoption process. "Paul Muad'Dib Atreides. You can call me Paul." He nods in Princess's direction. "It's a pleasure to meet you."
no subject
Not so many to overwhelm a new owner, but they'd have companionship too!
"Hi Paul! I'm Princess!" She introduced herself, pleased that she'd already gotten off to a very good start. "Bird names?"
no subject
It's good that the owls will have friends of their own species.
"I'll have to think about that. I have a few ideas." Paul gives Princess a grin. "Glad I could help you find them homes."

"Come make friends? I like making friends. These animals are very adorable. What sort of birds do you have inside the kennels?"
Of course Erik wanted to know because he already had a dog back home so perhaps a bird? The tour would be able to accommodate a new feathered friend surely. Robert wouldn't mind a bird staying with them, would he?

Volt has never seen a little beast like this capable of driving a vehicle. What even are they? Condrocs? Sawgaws? They've never seen anything so colorful and fluffy outside of stuffed animals. They watch from a nearby rooftop, unblinking optics tracking the raptors' movements as they bustle around to set up some kind of menagerie. Is this a new conservation outpost?
The puppy catches their attention the most. It's like a kubrow, but... not. Fluffier? The nose is also different, like a little button. It's bizarre but cute.
They smoothly drop down to street level, hoof-like feet landing quietly on the pavement. Their hands are empty and open as they approach, attention drawn by the approach of one very pink fluffball. They're not expecting that fluffball to talk, and their step pauses in surprised delight. Adorable! They nod in response, raising a hand to wave hello.

Princess brightens at the wave, tail thwipping in a bit of a wag or wiggle. Same difference with her really. "Good! Come see! Make friends!"
Urged with a chipper voice as she goes prancing towards the kennels and her companions, and the puppy loses the fight with it's own willpower to just pop! Disappear from it's spot atop the kennel and pop back into existence at Volt's feet with an excited bark, tail windmilling so hard it's amazing the pup hasn't taken flight.

Slowly, they lower their hand again, and carefully crouch down, reaching out a yellow-fingered hand for the puppy to sniff.

They can't smile, but the tension in their frame relaxes a little from the alarmed vigilance of before.
The Monster got called.
The blue fuzzy monster now staring at the bike with the strange pink creature with his large googly eyes. They looked friendly enough and Cookie always liked making friends with new people in the Nexus. Big Bird always said friends were good.
"What in deh boxes?"
Cookie was now peeking into the kennels wondering what was inside. Cookies? No, it didn't smell like cookies at all. Animals were inside!
no subject
"Hi Cookie! I'm Princess!" She pranced alongside him, as he got closer to one of the kennels inside which there were several cats all slinkying and rollypollying around each other not unlike a pack of excited ferrets.

Her mouth opens half intrigued at the kennels, two sets of eyes open wider at the sight of the Puppy. Well...It wouldn't hurt to at least say hello..And find out more information. Not sure what sort of critters might get along with them let alone like/tolerate the scent/smell of em.
She softly, slowly pads over, "Well, Ello there." She murmurs warmly. As Gawain babbles and coos curiously. Before reaching towards the feathers to try and pet them.
no subject
"Hi!" Princess replied happily, noting the baby reaching for her, and extending her head just a bit in invitation with a little friendly chirp.
no subject
Minding Gawain raptly as he "baa baa"s and tries to gently pat the interesting creature. "Birb." He states. Gaining a wee chuckle from his mother. "Erm close to it darling. Hello again." She murmurs warmly.
Her eyes squint in a happy fond look at the interaction and cute lovely sound. "I see ya been busy." She murmurs warmly. Her eyes drifted towards the pup. The least she could do was ask questions. Even as her heartstrings got pulled on. If she had her way, someday they'd get a good sized parcel and room/hands to have a wee farm or some such.

"Mornin', ladies," he greets when he eventually comes over. "Ain't like I'm in need of more animals to live with, but I reckon I could care for another one or two if they'll get on with the cows and chickens and Pokemon."
Could be a fun surprise for Loki, whenever he comes back from his trip...hopefully soon...
no subject
"Cricket!" Princess chirped happily, doing a circle around him and gently bonking his calf with her head by greeting. "No need but more friends good!" By her estimate anyways. And if she would trust anyone with her charges, Cricket was atop the list.
no subject
"Besides, if you're recommendin' 'em to me, I best take your advice. Are there cats? Thought I heard a meow a minute ago."
He's game for any kind of animal, of course, but he did have a cat when he was a kid. It'd be nice to adopt another.
no subject
"Cats! Yes yes, come!" The little raptor pepped up, happily leading the way towards one of the kennels where there was indeed meowing coming from, all soft and dozy. Inside, there was a small pile of rather... long cats most of them black or tortie-colored snuggled in to nap, one with longer, white fur blinking sleepily at the pair, first the blue eye then the green.
no subject
He loves them.
The white one is looking at him, and so he looks back, makes a soft chirp noise, and slow-blinks at them. "Mornin', angel. How d'you feel about chickens?"
because I had to
The first sounds that come from her are twittering noises in clear imitation of the smaller griffins. She sometimes talks to baby birds the same way, in the Wilds, though what she's actually saying to them she can't be sure. Not quite the same language.
Eventually she uncloaks and creeps closer, oddly shy. Princess is, after all, extended pack, but she doesn't really know her, save by sight and reputation.
"Friends?" Rex's default language is probably close enough to the Indoraptor's to be easily understood. She won't bother with translation unless the raptors seem to need it.
no subject
And it was proven with the body language being shown- no threat, just curiosity and shyness, which encouraged Princess to bobble closer. "Friends!" She confirmed cheerfully. "Bad people had them now we are finding them nicer packs."
no subject
Unlike the raptors, she only has a few wispy, rudimentary feathers on her neck and back, but they fluff up with indignation as she hears about bad people. Maybe she's jumping to conclusions but she can all too easily imagine. "I will protect any that want to come to my pack," she promises.
And with these creatures, who are too small to be even a slightly tempting snack, she's pretty confident she can keep up her end of that bargain. If there are any who aren't terrified by the sight of her, that is.
no subject
And seeing this? Indominus might not have to worry about being scary- one of the blink puppies still settled in the kennel the noisier one was on seems to be interested more than worried, little face scrunching with concentration before she's blinking out of existence only to wink back a few steps back from where Princess is, flopped over ears perking slightly as she cautiously wags her tail, nose lifting to sniff curiously.
no subject
That's not the issue at hand, though. The puppy appearing so close definitely surprises her, but she doesn't startle, just snorts and makes a little chuffing noise. She isn't familiar with teleportation, so her first thought is that the little animal has some sort of camouflage like she does. She likes.
She sniffs delicately, then creeps a limb forward toward the puppy, claws turned to the ground away from it, to let it sniff. From an outside perspective this would probably be highly anxiety-inducing to watch, actually, but she knows what her intentions are, and hopefully the other animals can sense they're peaceful.

He’d thought about getting a pet on multiple occasions after arriving in the Nexus. Perhaps a pokemon or maybe a catwing. But he’d yet to find an animal that really suited him. Minoru, of course, already had Kazumi, his butter ball python. The snake was a fixture in the apartment, and his brother’s pride and joy. (Heck, he even organized playdates with other snakes!)
“Come make a friend, hm?” He repeated, looking out over the various kennels. There was no harm in exploring the available options. “What sorts of friends do you have?”
no subject
The blink puppy atop the kennel piped up with a pleased bark like he was the welcome committee, tail wagging furiously as he looked hopefully to the newcomer for pets.
no subject
“Oh, no… nothing with wings. The apartment already has one occupant you might need to pry off the ceiling, and his name is Minoru. It does not need another.”
no subject
They aren't sure who or what these cute little things are just yet, but oh they do seem so sweet, not only that, at least one talks!
The drow kneels and holds a hand out to the small raptor who spoke. "My name is Tarach'and. You can call me Tar though. It's nice to me you."
no subject
The half-demon perused the kennels, almost as though she was looking for something a bit more... specific. The cute and appealing critters didn't do much for her at all. She wanted to find something closer to herself, the reject, the outcast. Hand on her hip, she let out a sigh, glancing towards the raptors.
"Got anything that isn't so damn cute?"
no subject
Slipping her journal into her pocket she decided to go take a peek. If nothing else might be interesting.
