Welcome Committee
There's been so many fresh faces to the Nexus recently, and more than a few of them have been children. Questions about finding a way home, about trying to decide if they want to go home. People wondering what to do now...
There are a few tables set out this morning in the Plaza in front of a small cafe loaded with several caraffes of coffee, breakfast pastries from more than a few different worlds and cultures, and a large pan of eggs and sausage kept warm over a chafing dish. On either end of the table are disposable plates, cups, and cutlery as well as a few welcome pamphlets in a small container. Along the front of the tables is a hand made banner.
"Meet and Greet"
Manning the tables is Katsuya Suou, red apron on and a cup of coffee in hand. He looks far too cheerful for how early in the morning it is.
"Right then, is anyone hungry? Have any questions about the nexus?"
((OOC: Feel free to mingle and threadjump in this thread. I'm trying to get people who have yet to meet to interact, so do not feel obligated to only reply to me!))

"It certainly has." And very few of the new arrivals are from Tamriel, which is as intriguing in its own way as the influx of people from her world or worlds adjacent to hers.
"I suppose it's not surprising, though, that whatever cycle dictates these things wouldn't be any more predictable than any other aspect of this place."

Not that she hasn't done the same thing to basically everyone in the Nexus, but that is really to be expected from her. Or at least it should be. Her bellini gets another sip taken from it before Natasha sets it down again.
"There's enough trouble in the Nexus without getting caught by surprise."

The latter statement got a faint grimace out of him, and he replied, "Fair point."
He wrapped both hands around his coffee cup and glanced over. "I don't suppose one of those newcomers was an older man with a long white beard, wearing green robes...?"

Natasha's eyebrows both raise pointedly as she returns the glance. Did you get hit on by the old gross dude Van? She'll try not to laugh.
"Haven't seen him here. Which is for the best concerning the rumors around that guy."
no subject
But he regains himself quickly, and asks, "The rumors concerning people getting ill after even brief conversations with him, or are there new ones I haven't heard?"
He isn't about to let his discomfort prevent him from keeping tabs on the man.

What, no Natasha isn't laughing at Vanyel that would be admitting she has feelings above anger and annoyance. But she is smirking pretty hard, looking vaguely amused. It wasn't something she had to deal with, so of course it's funny.
"Those would be the ones. Though most everyone has recovered rather quickly afterwards."

"Did they? Good. I made some healing potions for Tribune Caelus," he nods in the direction of the severe-looking gentleman in the Romanesque armor, "to distribute, but I wasn't sure there were enough for everyone who needed one."
no subject
Natasha has to wonder what was in it for him to do so. Not that he doesn't seem like the decent sort, but she's loathe to trust anybody and especially those she only knows through data gathering.
"Maybe I'll make sure."
All liquid grace, Natasha gets to her feet and sidles past Vanyel back off toward the food.
"Keep away from lecherous old men Vanyel." He murmurs with a wink as she passes by.

Far be it from him to say that's wrong of her. He doesn't have much trust for the Legion or other 'official' authority figures, and doesn't know Stratos well enough to put much trust in him on a personal level.
What he does know of the tribune suggests that he is, at least, a man of his word - in which case Natasha's 'making sure' won't hurt anything.
He scowls at her back for that parting remark, but there's no heat in it.
