1st Annual Halloween Block Party!

Perhaps it's the leaves of fiery golds and oranges drifting on the breeze, or the sight of various hard squash being mangled into festive ornaments, or even still the bowls of candy left out simply everywhere in the Nexus that signifies the import of today. Regardless of when you take heed, Halloween has come to the Nexus.
Neat little handmade signs and fliers of all kinds lead to a particularly festive sectioned off block with the Crossroads Cafe at the center. The brick building has more than its fair share of decorations hung from every available windowsill and door. Hanging skeletons, jolly Jack-O-Lanterns, orange and black streamers cascading down and blowing to and fro in the crisp breeze.
The doors are propped open just waiting to beckon you inside. What are you waiting for?
((See the OOC post if you have any questions! Backtagging and threadhopping are fine. Come on in and have a blast :D ))

The outfit may be the ruffliest thing he's ever seen in his life but he's trying to wear it like he belongs in the cloths, not in the practical synthetic fabric'd uniform he wears so much of his time. He's nursing a flute of champagne as he approaches, tipping the glass toward the man's mask.
"I think I remember hearing about those kind of stories."

And he takes the time to look over Kirk's own costume. But then he blinks when Kirk mentions having hearing about the old Friday the 13th Movies as stories. "And I'm sure those stories made you reconsider spending any amount of time in the woods. But you should take sometime to watch the original movies."
And then he takes another swig of his beer. "And what about your costume? I can't say I can put a finger on it."

Clearly a man from the future, wearing a costume belonging far, far in the past. Or some idealized version of the past, at least. Jim looks down at his own clothes and gives a chuckle.
"I went to the shop and asked for something different. She looked at my uniform and said 'Why not a storybook prince?' So. Here I am. Prince Charming. Ridiculous, huh."
He says that, but he wears the outfit as though he was born to. Someone clearly has no shame. It's more fun that way.

"With the way you seem to be wearing that thing, I can see that the storybook prince has managed to survive well into the future. Next time, you might want to keep to the classics." There is no way he can see himself wearing that outfit, not without having to ditch his beard.
He digs his hand into his pocket, and he pulls out a chocolate bar and he opens it and pops the entire thing into his mouth. "But at least they didn't give you a puffy shirt and pants."

"Well, sort of? It helps that I've met a bunch of folks here that dress pretty similarly to this."
no subject
"Makes sense, if you have people from different worlds and points in time visiting or living here."

Jim gestures around the Nexus. This is where he spends most of his free time.
"Most folks I run into are from that era."

He takes a look around the people who have come to sit around the fire, and a brief smile appears on his face. And Adam will not disagree about this being a nice place to come when there is some downtime. And as much as he wouldn't mind being a permanent resident, he isn't about to abandon his mission at home.
"I've only met Felix." He recalls. And he didn't forget the free wine that found itself to his table the day of the breakfast, and the dwarf who ordered them.

He points up while he's talking. You know. The stars. Space. The final frontier? All that stuff. He sputters with his drink slightly and sets it aside when Adam keeps talking.
"Felix? Really? Friend of his or?"
no subject
And while there is a rumored base on the moon and that space exploration is still very much in the infancy stages. But Adam cannot help but to whistle at the thought of exploration that goes beyond just the Moon and Earth's gravity.
"Now I'm impressed. And I'm just working as an agent for Interpol." Adam's mechanical eyes still look upwards to the stars in the sky of the Nexus. And he still keeps his drink in his hand.
"Right now, he's looking along with, Rosco to get some type of police force started here in the Nexus." Adam's eyes look back down at the drink in his hand, and he raises the bottle to his lips and he takes a drink. "And I offered them my services."
He goes to take another drink of his beer, only to find the bottle empty. "Also I don't think I got your name."

Kinds that usually tend to find Jim to be more trouble than he's worth, but Jim's on his best behavior here. Plus, if Felix gave this guy the all clear he can't be that uptight of a guy. Or at least off the job.
"Jim Kirk." He extends his hand automatically to shake. "Good to meet you....?"
no subject
"Adam Jensen." Adam takes the extended hand, and he gives it as firm of a shake one can do with an augmented arm. "And so far, I'm not sure what is exactly needed in this place when it comes to law enforcement."
