1st Annual Halloween Block Party!

Perhaps it's the leaves of fiery golds and oranges drifting on the breeze, or the sight of various hard squash being mangled into festive ornaments, or even still the bowls of candy left out simply everywhere in the Nexus that signifies the import of today. Regardless of when you take heed, Halloween has come to the Nexus.
Neat little handmade signs and fliers of all kinds lead to a particularly festive sectioned off block with the Crossroads Cafe at the center. The brick building has more than its fair share of decorations hung from every available windowsill and door. Hanging skeletons, jolly Jack-O-Lanterns, orange and black streamers cascading down and blowing to and fro in the crisp breeze.
The doors are propped open just waiting to beckon you inside. What are you waiting for?
((See the OOC post if you have any questions! Backtagging and threadhopping are fine. Come on in and have a blast :D ))

He smiles when he sees her costume and points at her with a hand holding a half-finished bottle of alcohol.
"Lady Vashj! Or are you Queen Azshara? It looks good! I like the..." He paws at the air around his head where his hair would be if he were wearing her wig.

She looks up at him and smiles nervously. His appearance is intimidating, although it's not so much having to chat with an undead drunk as having to chat at all that makes her uneasy.
"Oh, um... thank you. I don't know who those women are, though. I'm dressed as Medusa." Her eyes follow the bottle of alcohol, then take in the rest of the costume. She doesn't recognize it at all, but it is rather impressive. Especially the make-up... unless that isn't make-up. "Who are you supposed to be?"

"Medusa," he repeats as thoughtfully as a drunken man can. Then he smiles and extends his free hand. "It's nice to meet you, Medusa. I'm Captain America." He puffs out his chest and, still smiling, starts to shake his head. "Tonight, anyway. Every other day my name's Harrowheart."
Then he glances over his shoulder and looks around the relatively secluded area. A little too loudly he asks, "What're you doin' here? Am I crashin' your one-person party?"

His loud question makes her not so much nervous as embarrassed. No one wants to hear her sorry excuse of being an introvert, or socially anxious. Instead, she fidgets with the sleeves of her plain green dress and answers, "No, it's fine. Halloween is a new holiday to me, I'm trying to take it all in."

"It's new for a lotta folks! I hope you like it. It's probably my favorite holiday. We got somethin' like this back on my world! Hallow's End, that's what it is there. It's all about the world of the dead comin' close to the world of the livin', and hope for the year ahead, and thinkin' about the year that passed." He pauses to take a swig of his drink and afterwords adds, "And drink! And dress up. And eat candy. It's a blast."
He looks her over and considers what he's just said. "You gotta have some party holidays where you're from, huh?..."

The question surprises her. "Well, sure. We have Dionysia, and Thargelia, and people usually threw a barbecue on Colonial Day. But not anything that combines costumes and candy and... and spooky stuff."

"What world're you from? I woulda guessed Earth for sure. All the humans I meet around here come from one Earth or another, feels like."
He hooks a thumb at his own chest and says, "My world's called Azeroth. Don't sweat it if ya never heard of it, it's kind of a shithole." He pauses for a swig of his drink, then is sure to clarify, "But it's my shithole, so I love it."

Adia smiles faintly. "I've noticed that, too," she confides. "I can count on one hand the number of humans I've met who aren't from Earth. I'm originally from Leonis, one of the twelve colonies of Kobol." There's a nostalgic look on her face that turns bitter when she adds, "Now I live on New Caprica."
"I haven't," she admits. "What's it like?" She's not going to judge Harrow calling his home world a shithole. Based on her earlier expression, she feels the same way about New Caprica. Minus the loving it part.

All talk of planets is (at least momentarily) right out the window. He leans down just a bit to get a little closer to face level with her and awaits her answer with eagerly raised brows.

THE LATEST TAG but a tag nonetheless
Better late than never! :)
She hopes she's making sense to Harrow. She doesn't want to patronize him. "Do you have any myths like that on Azeroth? Lost people or places?"
