1st Annual Halloween Block Party!

Perhaps it's the leaves of fiery golds and oranges drifting on the breeze, or the sight of various hard squash being mangled into festive ornaments, or even still the bowls of candy left out simply everywhere in the Nexus that signifies the import of today. Regardless of when you take heed, Halloween has come to the Nexus.
Neat little handmade signs and fliers of all kinds lead to a particularly festive sectioned off block with the Crossroads Cafe at the center. The brick building has more than its fair share of decorations hung from every available windowsill and door. Hanging skeletons, jolly Jack-O-Lanterns, orange and black streamers cascading down and blowing to and fro in the crisp breeze.
The doors are propped open just waiting to beckon you inside. What are you waiting for?
((See the OOC post if you have any questions! Backtagging and threadhopping are fine. Come on in and have a blast :D ))

It's mostly because of, well. She's from about ten-thousand-bloody-years before most everyone else from their world that she's met. But none of them have quite hit the nail on the head just yet as to that being the reason why.
"As for the costume, apparently this is what the Earthers call a 'Witch', which struck me as better, aesthetically, than anything I've seen or heard about from Dathomir." Far too much intense red for her tastes.

He gestures with the cup he's holding at Dia's prosthetic hand. Oh the stories he's been told about Uncle Luke's missing hand growing up. And people wonder why he's got problems. Some people's parents.
"Someone told me the point of this holiday was to dress as ridiculously as you could so I figured, can't get more ridiculous than this, so. It looks good on you, though."
Black is an acceptable color. A good color, even. He likes it.

Usually, Dia wears her robe sleeves to cover them, but her costume doesn't allow for that this time. "How is that ridiculous then? It looks to me like regular clothes from someone's closet or something."
Especially since it looks like someone else she knows' clothing. Admittedly, Han isn't someone she knows well, but his style of dress is still fairly distinct.
"So if you're from our reality then? Might I have some clue as to who you are?"

The kid rolls his eyes when he explains, but really it's so much more disdain for having to mention his father by name than it is having to explain it to her. He spends an awful lot of time trying to distance himself as much as he can from his family usually, so this seemed like a clever tongue in cheek joke to him. Plus, his dad's old clothes fit him really well.
"My name's Kylo Ren, by the way."

Admittedly, she hasn't entirely made the connection that this is somehow Han's son--Kylo's too old for that, for the age she's guessing Han is. He looks related, but she's thus far guessing younger sibling or cousin or something.
Either way, she doesn't voice this thought aloud for the moment.
"Dia'ndria Starfall. Interesting name, not one I think I've heard before since I arrived. I assume you're fairly new?"

Is it terribly obvious he's got no idea how to conduct himself? Awkward teen is awkward.
"I'm not here very often." And most certainly not because he's in school. Who told you that. "Usually just when Solo decides he want's to infect the Nexus with his presence."

"So I assume your uncle has had only one hand replaced then? What happened?"
no subject
And really, he should have known better, Ben thinks. What did he expect to happen? not that is even anywhere close to the entire story but it's the only part he finds important.
"Solo doesn't like it when I talk about him though."
