1st Annual Halloween Block Party!

Perhaps it's the leaves of fiery golds and oranges drifting on the breeze, or the sight of various hard squash being mangled into festive ornaments, or even still the bowls of candy left out simply everywhere in the Nexus that signifies the import of today. Regardless of when you take heed, Halloween has come to the Nexus.

Neat little handmade signs and fliers of all kinds lead to a particularly festive sectioned off block with the Crossroads Cafe at the center. The brick building has more than its fair share of decorations hung from every available windowsill and door. Hanging skeletons, jolly Jack-O-Lanterns, orange and black streamers cascading down and blowing to and fro in the crisp breeze.

The doors are propped open just waiting to beckon you inside. What are you waiting for?

Pokemon finding humans is no new news to Candela, as many trainers have easily befriended the creatures. What bothers her is Steve's timid nature, lack of confidence and uncertainty towards actually being a trainer. She takes a bite of the candy bar, thinking her next words over carefully, in order to not seem rude.

"So, what are you going to do now?"

"With the Pokemon? Try to keep them happy, as best I can. Take 'em on walks, let 'em playfight now and again. Pet stuff."

Steve remembers the injuries poor Rufflett had when Steve first met him and sighs.

"I wanna make sure no one hurts 'em again. And it's nice, you know? Not to be alone anymore in the apartment."

It hasn't occurred to him yet that he could take them with him when he's got his shield strapped to his back doing patrols with Blaze and Ghost. He'd never want to see them hurt, and what he's doing is dangerous.

"Walks are good for the exercise. Have you ever asked your Pokemon if they want to battle or train?"

Ninetales is now up off Steve's feet, curling around the legs of his costume, trying to remove the scent of Growlithe. Territory-marking is serious business to Pokemon.

"Pokemon are great companions. I couldn't imagine not having them in my life." Candela reaches down and gently pats Ninetales on the head. "I'm a Team Leader where I'm from, so I could give you some tips if you'd like."

"I don't...follow. I can't really talk with them? I think they understand what I say to them, more or less. They're smart. All of them are. But, I never know what they really want/ I've gotten pretty good at guessing, though."

Steve shrugs. he's really a novice when it comes to Pokemon training.

"I don't know how to even begin training them, or if they'd want to." not that he's against the idea. He tries to train himself as often as he can.
