1st Annual Halloween Block Party!

Perhaps it's the leaves of fiery golds and oranges drifting on the breeze, or the sight of various hard squash being mangled into festive ornaments, or even still the bowls of candy left out simply everywhere in the Nexus that signifies the import of today. Regardless of when you take heed, Halloween has come to the Nexus.

Neat little handmade signs and fliers of all kinds lead to a particularly festive sectioned off block with the Crossroads Cafe at the center. The brick building has more than its fair share of decorations hung from every available windowsill and door. Hanging skeletons, jolly Jack-O-Lanterns, orange and black streamers cascading down and blowing to and fro in the crisp breeze.

The doors are propped open just waiting to beckon you inside. What are you waiting for?

"I've been running into all kinds of old friends here. It's a goddamn treat to be at an event that isn't the diplomatic sort for a change. Though no wagers have been made this year, so my costume is rather tame."

Besides, the bet Jim won last year got him far more than bragging rights. He's content with his spoils and doesn't feel the need to attract more attention this year.

"It looks like you were made to wear something like this. Looks good on you."

Jim pauses to glance outside again before he leans against the door frame and turns to the Dragonborn fully. Just because he's waiting around on Bones doesn't mean he's gonna be rude to his friends.

He offers a sympathetic grimace at the very idea of diplomatic parties. Not that he's been to many besides the one at the Thalmor Embassy - and it was admittedly his own fault that one ended up being disastrous. "Yes, I imagine it would be."

And he takes a longer look at Jim's costume now, eyes sliding from his new hairstyle down to his boots. "It's certainly different," he agrees. "But you wear it well."

The compliment to his own costume -specifically the notion that he was made for it or vice versa- makes him blink and look down at it, considering. "You think so? It is fairly similar to Dawnguard light armor, design-wise..."

"The hair is what bugs me the most." Jim blows up to get his bangs to stop hanging in his eyes. They're not really that long, but compared to the trim and slightly styled look he usually wears it's ungodly longer and Jim keeps shaking his head slightly whenever he thinks about it too long.

And he'd had to curl his hair for the costume. Not that he'd admit to using a curler to anyone. But gosh. He owes Uhura so much for helping him out.

"Maybe it's because of similarities to your own garb? I dunno. You just..look comfortable in it."

He tucks a few strands of hair behind his ear as he considers that - his own costume didn't require much in that regard, but... "I imagine it would be quite a change."

It had certainly taken him some time to adjust when he'd first grown his own hair out.

"Maybe you're right." He certainly can't deny that he's comfortable in it.
