1st Annual Halloween Block Party!

Perhaps it's the leaves of fiery golds and oranges drifting on the breeze, or the sight of various hard squash being mangled into festive ornaments, or even still the bowls of candy left out simply everywhere in the Nexus that signifies the import of today. Regardless of when you take heed, Halloween has come to the Nexus.

Neat little handmade signs and fliers of all kinds lead to a particularly festive sectioned off block with the Crossroads Cafe at the center. The brick building has more than its fair share of decorations hung from every available windowsill and door. Hanging skeletons, jolly Jack-O-Lanterns, orange and black streamers cascading down and blowing to and fro in the crisp breeze.

The doors are propped open just waiting to beckon you inside. What are you waiting for?

"Can't be that hard," she says cheerfully, offering him a gauntleted hand. She really does mean to go slow, but once he takes it she'll start off leading with a will. It's been a year since she tried it, but there are advantages to perfect memory sometimes...

Rosco takes her hand, stumbling a bit, as they begin. Fortunately, he has an older sister, who has a habit of taking the lead, while dancing. He's not sure of his steps, but he's more likely to trip over his own feet, than to step on hers.

"Do they dance a lot, where you're from? It's pretty popular at the Boars Nest, back home."

"Oh, sure! Guardians like me dance all the time. Just not so much like this. We dance on the battlefield, or with each other sometimes, but we don't have a lot of parties. Or meet all that many people outside our own ranks. I never danced with a civilian before I came here." She pauses. "So what's the Boar's Nest, a bar?"

Sounds like one, but the name's a bit of a puzzler.

"Uh, you mean literally dancing on the battlefield...or just, y'know, looking at fighting as dancing?" Rosco asks, a bit confused. "Yeah, the Boars Nest is a bar, the only one in Hazzard. Boss don't like competition."

She laughs. "That's a fine way to look at it, but we do the literal kind of dancing too. Best way to taunt the enemy, or celebrate a win- celebrate being alive, at that. So who's your boss?"

Sounds like someone Blaze will disapprove of, just from what Rosco said there.

"Oh...oh! I see what you mean, now," Rosco says, grinning. "There's a few I can see doing that."

Bo Duke particularly has the humor and defiance to taunt an enemy that way...and any other way the smart aleck can think of.

"Boss is J.D. Hogg. He runs Hazzard County, being the commissioner. Most everyone calls him Boss."

"Commissioner, huh? Can't say I'm familiar with the title." She's all business there, for a moment. "And he decides who can set up shop there?"
