1st Annual Halloween Block Party!

Perhaps it's the leaves of fiery golds and oranges drifting on the breeze, or the sight of various hard squash being mangled into festive ornaments, or even still the bowls of candy left out simply everywhere in the Nexus that signifies the import of today. Regardless of when you take heed, Halloween has come to the Nexus.

Neat little handmade signs and fliers of all kinds lead to a particularly festive sectioned off block with the Crossroads Cafe at the center. The brick building has more than its fair share of decorations hung from every available windowsill and door. Hanging skeletons, jolly Jack-O-Lanterns, orange and black streamers cascading down and blowing to and fro in the crisp breeze.

The doors are propped open just waiting to beckon you inside. What are you waiting for?

"Would your tail work?"

Jim's watching Iphi move about on the floor, blue eyes taking in the sway and skimming of her feet across the ground.

"Okay do I just...mirror what you're doing?"

"I'm afraid my tail's just getting in the way," she says with a laugh. "And yes, you can mirror what I'm doing."

She's glad she chose one of the less acrobatic dances to do. Iphigenia doesn't feel very confident in her tumbling or flipping abilities.

Jim won't leave her dancing by herself for long. He steps up to the princess and begins to glance at his own feet while he tries to mimic the steps Iphi is making. Give him a minute or two to follow her motions all the way through a few times and he'll be right there across from her dancing with her.

"Did you go to many dances like this back home?"

[bornstrong]

"We had them often, yes," she says, trying not to trip on her tail. "My mother and father would have dancing and singing for our guests whenever possible. Sometimes I would perform, as a singer."

She's very proud of her voice, truthfully.

"Some day you'll have to show off that voice of yours then."

Jim won't be winning any competitions in ancient Greek dancing today (give him a few days to practice) but he's keeping up just fine with Iphi as the music swells.

"I bet it would be a treat."

[bornstrong]

She blushes a little--though honestly, Iphigenia knows she's good. She also knows that humility is important, and so she smiles shyly and nods.

"Of course," she says, twirling. "I would be honored."
