A Young Hylian

Not much to see here.

Just a ten-year-old boy, dressed in a green tunic, sword and shield strapped to his back. Despite being armed, he's smiling pleasantly whenever someone makes eye-contact, and gawking at the sights like any other kid. It's obvious he has no ill-intentions.

After meandering around for a while, the boy sits down on a bench and drinks milk from a glass bottle. When he feels a little more comfortable, he asks a question.

"Have you seen a fairy around here?"

The boy's face fell slightly hearing that Navi wasn't around, but, perked back up at her question.

"Nope, I'm not lost. I'm just someplace new. I'm--not sure what this place is called, but..." He rubbed his neck and grinned a little ruefully. "My name's Link."

Adia smiles a little at his reply. It's an adventurous attitude to have. "It's nice to meet you, Link. I'm Adia. You're in a place called the Nexus. You probably wandered here through a portal. If you retrace your steps, I'll bet you can find your way back."

[younghero]

Magic portals, time travel, it was all fairly normal to Link.

"Ah! I guess Navi's probably not here---or anyone else from Hyrule, I suppose. It's nice to meet you too, Adia."

He glanced in the direction he came, and nodded. Easy enough to find his way back. Nothing to worry about there.

"Well, you never know. Sometimes people run into alternates of those that they know. Is that where you're from? Hyrule?" She looks relieved that he's confident about finding his way back. She wouldn't be much help if he couldn't.

[younghero]

"Yeah. I'm from the Kokiri Forest, but, I've been staying here and there lately. I wouldn't mind seeing people from home! Even if they're from the wrong time. It'd be neat!"

Specifically a certain princess, but, he wouldn't mind seeing Malon or Saria either.

She wishes she had his enthusiasm. "Not just the wrong time," she corrects gently. "They might be from a world that's similar to yours, but not the same."

[younghero]

Link paused to consider that. Another Hyrule....different from the two timelines he already knew. He wondered if that meant there was another him out there.

"I guess as long as it's Hyrule."

She's glad that he's taking a moment to think over her words. She would hate for him to be unpleasantly surprised by an alternate, especially at his age. "You're the first person from Hyrule that I've met." She smiles. "What's it like?"

[younghero]

Her question instantly made him brighten.

"Hyrule is amazing! It's beautiful! There's fields, mountains, forests, and a lake---there's villages and Hyrule castle---and the people are wonderful! Besides Hylians, there's the Zora, and the Gorons, and the Kokiri---it's the best. I'm going to be a Knight someday and help keep everyone safe forever."

She's starting to get a better sense of the world Link is from. "It sounds lovely." She points to his sword and shield. "Is that why you're carrying those? You're training to be a knight?"

[younghero]

"Not--not yet."

Link hesitated. "I was a hero, but, I got sent back in time, and no one remembers it but me and Navi. I carry a sword and shield because I'm a decent swordsman and I try to train people when I can."

Adia's eyes widen in surprise. She's heard a lot of stories in the Nexus, but this is the first person she's met who has been sent back in time. "That sounds hard to adjust to," she says simply, before adding, "You might find people here who'd like to be trained. There is an anti-violence field that extends around the Plaza and a few other areas, though, so no one would get hurt."
