It was suppose to be the same old routine, one that someone could safely assume a musician would have in general. Singing, songwriting, performing and the like, it was something Arlin was doing ever since he decided to get back into the music business several months ago. He had been mostly performing around where he lived for now. It was only just today that he secured a record contract with a label so currently he had a kick in his step and a smile on his face. Not that he wasn't having a bad day to begin with, but he had always wanted to be a singer so it was nice to see his dream job coming to fruition in some way after taking a hiatus.
He wanted to tell his wife and kids as soon as he could so home was where he was headed. Down a block or two to where he parked and then a few minute to their small but comfortable house. He was elated enough with the news that in his excitement about his future he failed to notice the scenery suddenly changing a bit at first. He could've sworn he was going the right way to his car, he parked it about a block down straight down and hard to miss.
He did a double take, looking around as he finally slowed to a stop and realized that the buildings around didn't look the same as they did a few minutes ago. Where was he and how did he end up here?
"Umm excuse me but would you mind telling me where I'm at?"

At least more familiar than the rest of the Nexus.
He stops when he spies the confused man, turning back on his heel and walking back over to him.
"You're not in Kansas anymore, if that's what you're asking. Do you know how you got here?"
no subject
He nods, "Yeah I think so, I was walking from a record label to my car wanting to tell my wife and kids that I finally got a record deal when somehow I walked into this place." He explains.

"That sounds familiar. A lot of people end up here trying to get somewhere else." His chest clenched uncomfortably at the idea of their husband and father just disappearing like that. He hoped for their sakes, that this man wouldn't be stuck here the way Steve was.
"And well, congratulations. Sounds like you need to get back home."

"Do you happen to know a way back?"
no subject
He's one of the few who can't.
"I...I don't. Most people go back the way they came. But I never could find my way back."
no subject
"I'm sorry about that, i hope you find a way someday," He said in a comforting and optimistically tone of voice. He felt bad that it looks like he has't been able to find a way back for while.
"I'm Arlin Grove by the way before I forget to tell you my name completely," He chuckles in an effort to lighten the mood a bit.

The slim man holds out his hand to shake, looking a bit regretful that he couldn't offer any help.
"Steve Rogers. Nice to meet you."

"Is there anything else I should know about this place ahead of time? Like how dangerous it could be?" Arlin asked after a few seconds, figuring it doesn't hurt to be cautious and make sure the place isn't super dangerous to begin with before bringing his family over ok a family trip.

"This place is called the Nexus. I'm Rosco P. Coltrane. Why don't we sit down and I'll explain things to you."
Rosco waves at the center of the Plaza, to all the chairs and sofas littered about.

"This is hard to explain, so take your time trying to get it. It ain't easy," Rosco cautions. "You're not on your own world anymore. This place is another reality...a place where realities meet, you could say. People tend to just show up randomly. You seem like you're from Earth, America even. Are you?"
no subject
"Yes, well I was born in Tennessee but we lived in England since my oldest was 6 months. I had British parents, we moved there to help them out." He explains.

Rosco grins, glad to meet another country boy.
"I'm from Georgia myself."
no subject
"Where in Georgia are you from?'

After a few seconds, he sighs apologetically but interested, "I don't think I heard of a place in Georgia called Hazzard. I feel like I would've been there already on of our roads trips as a kid."
no subject
"There ain't no reason for you to have heard of Hazzard. There ain't noting there, but farmers and moon runners. We're the definition of home town country!"

"I ain't done much traveling. I have been to California, though. I like Georgia better."

"You're welcome. There's plenty of shops where you can trade for stuff. When I first got here, I collected bottle caps to use for money. Trade is fairly easy and you can do odd jobs, too."

"Yeah. It's hard to get along without the stuff."
