bit late for the xmas party but nevermind
Ah. This is...
[ Karna stepped into the battlefield to find out that the entire thing has been replaced by the Plaza. He looked around, by all means looking as bored as ever, although there is a hint of being bothered underneath his nonchalant expression. He sighed, lowering his lance but keeping it by his side. ]
...an inconvenience. [ After all, he had been ordered to fight the Lancer of Black, and, although this entire thing is beyond his control and not to be concerned about (he had a legendary bad luck, after all), it is still inconvenient. He turned to the nearest person, his tone polite and aloof, but at the same time there is the vaguest hint of a threat. ]
Where is the way out?
[ To all passersby: there is now a young man dressed in an elaborate-looking armour with an equally matching lance and red cape, and he's kind of...fairly underdressed for this season. For those of you magically inclined, he's also exuding magical energy...very much so. Thankfully, he's not under one of those mistletoes yet, so he's still free to move. He had a somewhat bored expression, his fine features regal and distant. You might be the lucky person who either both spotted him entering the Plaza and being asked, or merely the latter. Either way, the Heroic Spirit is talking to you. ]

Why, the Throne, if I disappeared due to the lack of mana. [ He fiddled a bit with his spear. ] But, please don't be concerned. It's the normal fate of a Heroic Spirit, Lady.
[ In another word: it's to be expected. It's actually more than a bit concerning how little value he puts in his own continuing existence, despite his seemingly boundless confidence. ]
You can say so. The Holy Grail can grant any wish. [ A small pause, and he added softly. ] I...do not have any wish of my own. My wish is to help my Master, and, as I said, in this War, to help my faction wins the War. [ And then, out of sudden curiosity-- ] Do you know of a magical object like that in your realm?
[ He looked at her, and blinks. Well, Karna doesn't really mind meeting someone else. Especially if they could help him get back, though he still had no use for books. ] I see. I would be very much grateful if someone could help me through their benefaction, as you are doing now, Lady. [ He smiled again, a little. ] So this place changes as well as being a realm in the crossroads of worlds? I don't think I have heard of anything like it.
[ Another pause. ]
Please lead the way, then.

Her long-suffering patience was about worn thin on that score. She'd probably have to upgrade to something other than soap and the like as a deterrent. How grown people could be such brats sometimes she'd never know. She slightly shook her head, focus. She mentally berated herself. Now was not the time to mentally stew and vent.
Her eyebrows went into her hair line, any? "Is..Is there not a price or something for such a wish?" She asks softly a little taken aback. Though she supposed the stuff the servants went through could be considered as such. Her eyes soften again and look kinda misty, "That's very noble of you." She murmurs sincerely. Though she half wondered if that was due to his regenerating.
She rubbed her chin again, "Well, there are legends of something similar..and there are genies..but there are rules and prices for such things. Like, for instance.." She began counting off on her fingers. "can't make someone fall in love with you, bring back the dead," She swallows softly and gets a far-off haunted sad look at that for a moment. "And a genie can not outright..murder someone while bound to their lamp." She informs him.
She smiles softly, "I certainly hope we can find someone..I know..how things can be confusing and such." She replies warmly returning the smile. Happy that she could be somewhat helpful. Sometimes it was hard just getting people to accept help, or to find the right resources for them. She hums in the affirmative and nods. "Aye, ahem yes, it can and does, though certain things..are a constant more or less. " She informs him. "It's definitely unique. must be all the energy and connection to the various realms." She states and theorizes with a nod.
She smiles warmly, Libraries, in general, were some of her fave places, the one here she'd just scratched the surface of, she felt. She looks about again and heads toward the tall building that might look similar to something from his time frame on the outside.
I'm sorry I'm so slow with this!!
[ He was aware that there are several...derogatory terms for non-Mages who disliked them, but it was none of his business. He was a Servant in a Holy Grail War. That is all that matters, and all that will ever matter. ]
The price is the War. [ Karna says, softer than he would like. ] In a normal Holy Grail War, seven Servants fought each other under seven Masters. Lives were offen lost. In mine, we have lost our Berserker and they have lost their Saber. A fair exchange, I suppose.
[ Though he kept the rest of his opinion to himself. Karna wasn't the one for words, and he merely gave her a blank look when she complimented him. ] I am the Hero of Charity, Lady. I merely do what is expected of me, and nothing less.
[ He listened to what she said next, not uninterestedly, beginning to be grateful for this respite. She proved to be a somewhat interesting conversation partner, and Karna hasn't had a proper conversation in a long time. It's not like he wanted to talk to Achilles, and the rest...well, let's just say the rest of them wasn't very talkative. Especially Spartacus. Karna doesn't understand a word of what that muscular man was saying other than "oppressor". ]
Mm, interesting. The Grail does not have such limitations. That is why it's the Holy Grail.
[ There was another slight pause as Karna assessed her again. ] ...I see. The confusion is not a concern. Please, do not worry about that, either. And I agree. That is why I said this place is like a leyline.
[ Boy, the Plaza itself is pretty vast. Karna found himself wondering about the rest of the place, then discovered that she had set out for the library, and he followed suit. It is not in his nature to wonder, although he did let his gaze assess the tall building and its surroundings a little. Once a Heroic Spirit, always a Heroic Spirit. ]

She smiles softly, "interesting, we..have various sorts of folks unfoutunently a fair few use their gifts for selfish and evil things. " She informs him. And nods, yeah sounds about right. "cultivation and training, is important." She agrees.
Her eyes soften and her shoulders sag a little. "ah I see, my condolences." She replies sincerely and politely. Yep, he seemed the consummate soldier through and through.
"That's a virtue , sadly not many seem to practice nowadays." She replies softly and wistful.
She blinks, and looks at him softly, "Well, if you're sure..and ah don't feel the need to be..um shy about asking questions around here.. there are lots of helpful folks." She informs him. "Usually you'll find a good group of folks in the plaza most days. " She informs him warmly.
She chuckles softly, "Aye tis, though some days it's more lively than others." She murmurs and glances around as she leads him toward the large stone steps. It was indeed filled with all sorts of things and possibilities. One never knew who or what ya might run into.
ty!!! also sorry he ain't very talkative rip
Ah. Yes. [ He says nothing more on the subject. It's her right to judge them, too, and it's none of his concern, either. ]
It happens. [ He merely said, shrugging, and then remembering his decorum. Karna kind of...sucks at it. ] Thank you, Lady.
[ ... ]
But if a lot of people practised a virtue, or are virtuous, it wouldn't be a virtue, would it? And there would not be any Heroic Spirits or Heroes. That is why we're here.
[ That is what it means to be a hero. But that's not what she asked for, so Karna kept it to himself. He kept a lot of things to himself and keeping to himself is what he do for the most part, although he's not shy. Not really. ]
I see. Thank you for the information.
[ He gave her another curt nod and followed her as they climbed over the stone steps. He glances at the entrance, there are some people milling around and everyone is dressed in all sorts of manner, so no one really paid him attention. Well. Just his lance, actually. But he doesn't pay them any heed. ]
Mm. It does seem to be that kind of place.
Re: no probelm, ^^ its alright. Strong silent type eh? XD
"You're most welcome." She replies automatically. But no less sincere.
She hums not sure about that. "I suppose striving towards something is important..But at least trying is better than the opposite. " She replies and shudders. She'd seen the dark side of batches of people at least not being compassionate or trying to empathize with people. She'd had to patch people up and bring them back from the brink more times then she could count.
Because of they either we're stubborn or prideful about something and got in over there heads. Especially with the whole eye for an eye mentally.
A part of her wondered why she bothered, another part couldn't..just well she couldn't just give up and quit on people.
Hence, the Nexus being a Godsend of sorts. She needed time to recharge her batteries as it were.
She nods, "your most welcome, happy to be of assistance. " She replies with a warm smile.
She pauses and glances back at him, with a small smile. "Indubitably. " She murmurs and then closes her eyes for a moment and takes a deep breath. She always loved Libraries with their smell and peaceful ish air. And worlds of knowledge etc at your fingertips. As well as adventures without having to leave yer chair.
