Harley is sitting cross-legged on a random Nexus couch today. She has found a pamphlet from the Pokémart and is looking through some of the Pokémon that could be adopted and trained.

She seems in a good mood today. Twirling her hair, as she reads the pamphlet. And there is a huge bag of caramel popcorn at her side.

"If you could have any kind of pet, what kind of animal or creature would you have?"

"What do you think qualifies as being a suitable pet owner?"

"Hey... I am a survivor." She winks.

He offers a tiny smile. But it's sad somehow. Forgive him, there are parts of this paused regeneration that still make him sentimental.

"Yes. You are. But have you ever lived?"

"Lived? Whatcha mean?"

"Shall we go for a stroll, Miss Quinn?"

He stands slowly and offers her his hand, but he intends to tuck her hand through the loop his arm makes.

"Surviving isn't living. Not really. Surviving is like nearly drowning. You're doing one thing after another to keep your head above water, but you're not really swimming, at least not with intent beyond keeping yourself alive."

Harley stands. And lets him tuck her hand into the bend of his arm. She is content to go for a stroll.

She listens carefully to his statement. And nods. "Yeah... that sounds familiar. A lot familiar."

He likes this. It reminds him of all the people not here. The ones he will never see again, the ones only in his memories. Maybe he can still help some people, though.

"Takes one to know one. Surviving isn't living. But here, in this place, you have that chance. And maybe, if we're very lucky, we all do..."

"I feel like I am living more these days. Just enjoying each day." Harley nods softly.

He gently squeezes her arm.

"You're on the right path anyway. And I've no doubt you'll get there one day."

And maybe he will to. He's better at helping others find it, though.

"Awww thanks. I appreciate your support."

"It's the least I can do. You've offered me another way to think on things."

Which is rare for him. He hopes it doesn't lead to bad things, but he will enjoy it as long as he can.

"Well, I am here for you. Anytime" And she leans up to place a kiss on his forehead.

He looks at her, a bit perplexed. Not really sure what she did that for, though Bill had done it fairly often.

"Y-you're not planning on leaving, are you?"

Because that's usually when Bill would do such a thing.

"I will have to go back to my Nexus apartment soon..." Harley laughs lightly.

"But I am not leaving you." He is always welcome at her place.

"I meant in the..." He stops talking when she says what she means. "Yes, well. That's going to take some getting used to. Recently, the only time anyone ever kissed me like that was if they were saying good bye. In the... rather permanent way."

But he hadn't pulled away from her and isn't telling her not to do it any more. Just explaining why he's confused.

"We got time. To get to know each other." She holds out her hand to him.

He looks at her hand for a moment, before he gently takes it in his.

"Yes. I daresay we do have time."
