The AV field can only protect the Nexus so much.

Sure, it makes sure no one's hurt for the most part unless it's broken. And that does cut down on a lot of crime. Kinda hard to murder someone, or rob someone at gunpoint if there's no real threat to the victim. But petty theft? Pushing someone down, taking their shit, and running off? That's a huge crime problem in the Nexus. Especially with hundreds of doors to flee to other worlds and PINpoints to get back to a safe house of the thief's choosing.

And wouldn't you know it? Petty theft is one super hero's bread and butter specialty. Webbing a thief up doesn't hurt them and it keeps them from pointing away long enough to call in the sheriff or his volunteer officers to scoop up the criminal. It does leave some stolen goods unaccounted for though. Which is why there's a friendly Nexushood Spider-Man calmly walking through the plaza with a handbag and some kind of weapon in each hand. A ways back is a struggling reprobate webbed up good and snug to a tree.

Every now and then he stops and holds them both aloft.

"Hey, anyone missing these? Does anyone know who had their stuff stolen? Is there a lost and found in the Nexus?"

"I mostly work in Queens, yeah. Can't say I blame you for hanging around here though. Coney Island during tourist season...even saying it makes me shudder."

Spider-Man has no idea who this Katsuya person is but if he's with the police then maybe he'd best find out about the guy. He nods at the info.

"Any idea where to find this guy?"

"I fit right in at Coney Island during tourist season." She playfully adjusts her bright neon suspenders with another grin.

"Yep!" Isn't she helpful?

"I mean, you've certainly got A Look going on Ma'am."

Definitely the title to use because he's polite and heroic and not because he's like twelve and talking to any adult ever. His shoulders sag forward slightly at her unhelpful declaration in a definite show of frustration.

"So....could you tell me? Please?"

"Hey...." Harley protests. Her look is the best. Thank you very much.

She was sort of hoping to get to know this masked vigilante better. But just like so many others... he wants to find the proper authorities.

And she has done good for the Nexus... however, very little who were involved in the Halloween fiasco actually talk about what happened. As for the spring revel, half of the people involved in that chaos now remember a different experience. Harley knows that she shouldn't want attention if she truly is walking the heroes path. It reminds her of all the missions for Suicide Squad that no one knew about.

Sometimes she wonders if she should go back to being a villain. She got a lot of attention during that time in her life.

Harley jolts out of her inner thoughts. She should do the right thing and take him to where he wants to go.

"He usually can be found at the Nexus Café... ya'know the one where Ice Bear is a chef? Here... let me show you the way."

She definitely doesn't Look like anyone out of the ordinary. Eccentric perhaps. But not like a hero or a villain. Though Peter's spider sense will not stop screaming at him and it's making the teen every kind of anxious. He doesn't know what he's supposed to be so worried about but it's definitely adding to his eagerness to see this through.

"A cafe? Who's Ice Bear? Wait you don't mean an actual bear right?"

"I do. A polar bear, in fact." Harley gestures for Spiderman to follow him towards the Nexus.

"He makes the best food in the whole Nexus."

"And we should find Katsuya there. He is a good protector of the Nexus."

"Like a seven foot tall half ton killing machine kind of bear?!"

That doesn't sound safe in any way shape or form and also how does a bear cook with no opposable thumbs? How does he fit in the kitchen?! This knowledge is blowing the poor man's mind.

"Friend of yours then? Both of them??"

"Ice Bear and his brothers Grizzly and Panda are as tall as me or you. But they are the best bears ever." Harley reassures him.

Harley smiles. "Ice Bear gave me my first real job in the Nexus. I waitressed for a bit at the café. I consider him a valued friend."

"And Katsuya…" Harley tilts her head. Friend is not the word she would use to describe the other man. "I would trust him to watch my back in an emergency. He would do that for anyone."

Harley you are breaking this child's brain. She must be enjoying this. The mask can only hide his expression but the sheer length of time he gapes at her says more than enough. He's idly worried about leaving the perp alone but the webbing won't dissolve for two hours so that's plenty of time to check out this cafe.

"He sounds..kinda scary. So what's a cafe owner got to do with the police anyhow?"

Gods this kid talks almsot as much and as fast as Harley does.

Harley really needs to wear a button that warns people: Brain Breaking Capabilities. Approach with Caution.

"Honey... Ice Bear ain't scary. The worst that will happen is that you get overfed." Harley promises him.

"Katsuya is the most law-abiding person I know. He is sorta like a Nexus cop."

"Taking 'Citizens Arrest' to a whole new level, huh."

Not that what he's doing is much different. Still, for a normal human that's pretty ballsy and way dangerous. He hopes the guy knows what he's doing.

"Not too friendly by the sounds of it though."

"You should make your own judgement calls." Harley notes softly. It really isn't Spiderman's fault that she has troubles clicking with law-abiding people. She really walks a thin line of doing the right thing... and knows that her methods are not always what other heroes would do.

"But we can get you a milkshake!" She smiles, focusing on the best part of visiting the Nexus Café.

Spider-Man's totally a law abiding citizen aside from the whole masked hero thing. He's so good he's practically a masked boy scout. He doesn't seem to not be getting along with Harley. Confused by, yes. He is very much confused by her.

"Wait wha--? A milkshake? But the thief..." Well, he is good and webbed up for another two hoursish. And it is hotter than hell out here. He could use something nice and cool to help beat the heat.

"I mean. That sounds kinda good actually." In this end of the plaza there's many more shops and stores and carts selling all manner of things. It seems like every third thing catches his attention but he's careful to keep up with Harley since she seems to know where they're going.

"Don't know if you got the whole air-breathing fabric or not... but I always imagined it would be hot to be fighting crime in one of those outfits." Says the girl who is showing a whole lot of skin in her outfit.

They soon reach the café. Harley seems to know everyone here. She waves excitedly at most of the people who are around today.

She orders them both a milkshake. Then looks around to see if Katsuya is available.

"Okay but you're the palest person I've ever seen and you're not even wearing any sunscreen. How are you not broiled alive?"

He's not directly making a comment about her lack of clothing. Just tangentially. He does have manners after all. But not even manners can stop Spider-Man from running his mouth at least a little. The woman at the register gives Harley a raised eyebrow when she walks in with Spider-Man in tow but takes their order all the same. A strawberry shake sounds divine to Peter right now. Whatever the lady says when she walks into the kitchen must get someone's attention because a slim Asian man in a red apron is soon wiping his hands and coming out front.

"...Harley." His accent makes it rather difficult to say her name but he does try. "I see you've brought a new friend." Dressed in some kind of sentai outfit no less.

"Awww thanks! I owe my skin tone to a chemical treatment." She can run her mouth just as good as him. "But don't try it at home..."

"Hi Katsuya!" She gives him a bright smile. "Um yes... this is..."

Shoot. He didn't give her a name. Quick Spiderman before she comes up with one!

"Chemical treatment sounds like either a euphemism for something I shouldn't ask about or a makeup industry term for something I wouldn't understand even if you explained it to me."

Either way, he best drop the subject. Also, wow, the resting Serious Face on this supposed 'most lawful person in the Nexus' is so strong Peter feels himself standing straighter without even thinking consciously to do so.

"Spider-Man. Nice to meet you, sir."

"Spider...man." Don't sigh, Katsuya. He sounds like one of those cosplaying kids you hear about all the time. And this is the Nexus. There is a small chance he's being entirely serious and that's a Thing on someone's world. He offers them both a polite nod. "How are you both faring today?"

"Spiderman had stopped a thief who was stealing from others in the Nexus." Harley explains, as she sits down to enjoy her milkshake.

"Anywho… he had asked if the Nexus had police or something similar... and I figured I should introduce him to you, Katsuya!"

And she totally didn't do anything wrong this time. Smile.

Something in the officer's posture shifts slightly before he gives the barest hints of a smile toward Spider-Man and Harley then. Stopping thieves is a noble way to spend one's time. And considering he's not leading Harley here in cuffs he feels it's probably safe to assume Harley wasn't the one doing the thieving.

He is trying to be better about judging her. After everything they've gone through together Katsuya feels he owes her that much.

"This is really good, by the way--" Mm. Strawberry shake is cold divine heaven right now so far as Peter's concerned. It's way too hot out there. Harley had a great idea coming here.

"Both Ice Bear and Katsuya are amazing chefs. Me... I am still learning how not to burn water." Harley grins.

"And Spiderman has this amazing trick to stop criminals without the Anti-Violence Field preventing him from doing so." Harley explains, in her typical bubbly manner. "He uses these webs..."

"Hey! Wait! Webs... Spiderman.... I get it now." She claps her hands excited.

"The thief he stopped was still contained by those webs when we came here."

"To each their own, Harley. You posses many skills which I do not."

Katsuya busies himself up front by refilling one of the refrigerated glass cases with baked goods and sweet confections while Harley and Peter talk, but he's got his head inclined to show he is still listening. And if the furrow between his brows is anything to go by, trying not to judge or get involved in his disapproval of leaving a criminal unsupervised.

"Yeah. I mean the name's not just for show." The nose down view of Spider-Man while he's sipping the shake definitely confirms that this is a kid, as if the body proportions couldn't already. Caucasian, kinda on the pale side. "Even in this heat they won't dissolve for another two hours or so. I've done a lot of testing on them lately."

"Yah... I am more the girl you call if you need someone's behind kicked." She was going to say a different word than behind... but then she caught that nose down view of Spider-Man and is watching her language around the kid now.

And she still has her psychiatrist skills that tell her that Katsuya is doing his best not to be judgemental.

"Is there some sort of jailhouse, or cells to keep Nexus thieves, Katsuya? Cause I can take the thief there... and you and Spiderman here can talk shop."

She'll catch Katsuya giving her a glance, this one grateful and approving. For not saying a bad word in front of the kid. Spider-Man seems to not notice either way, content to sip at the strawberry shake through the bright pink straw with a pleased hum.

"Roscoe has a makeshift jail on the edge of the plaza if you would like directions..." The kid perks up when Katsuya says as much too.

"A jail, really? I should probably--"
"Let Harley handle this one. The thief won't get away from her."

Spider-Man sulks the littlest bits. The thief didn't escape from him either.

"Don't worry Spiderman. I will make sure Roscoe knows to give you a call if he has any questions. Besides, you and Katsuya have a lot to talk about."

She is not one to learn the rules. Then she can plead ignorance if she missteps.

"Look me up again! Katsuya knows how to find me." She grins. Already finished with her milkshake.
