Okay first off, this place so didn't look like the dig she had been on in the middle of the Pacific. Which would explain why Taylor has a mud streak in her dark hair, and on her clothes. Though she brushes herself off mostly to try to look presentable.
After a moment she gives up, after all at least it's only mud and not blood or any thing else. Though her bare arms, show she's not unused to rough landings, coral hurts if you hit it in a bailout after all.
"This so isn't Rapa Nui, so. Would it be a bother to ask two things? Well three. Who is the Kahuna in charge? And where are we?" Yes she slipped into surf slang only because so far, she doesn't see professor types around and she really had been looking forward to getting the job done and testing some of the waves before she crashed for the night. Of course, it's hit or miss lately if she gets surf time.

"Ah." She murmurs softly in understanding. "I see. Or perhaps a few grains of sand." She murmurs slightly bemused. She nods, softly.
She chuckles warmly, "Ah, oh?" She murmurs warmly and then softly in compassion as her face softens. "Well, there's many a thing hidden in the depths is there not?" She half asks warmly. Thinking perhaps the woman needed a different structure than perhaps others were used to.
Or space. Her husband was very disciplined but he had a fun-loving and more go-with-the-flow side. Calm and steady till someone ruffled his feathers. Or pushed past his lines and limits.

"And alas, humans can only safely go a certain distance under the waves. Though I love being out on a paddle board in the deep ocean, sometimes I've been close enough on my board to reach out and touch humpback whales. It was both amazing and terrifying at the same time." She loved the thrill of it and knew and accepted the dangers, but it wouldn't stop her from going in the water ever. Even when she had fallen from her board once, into a whole school of jellyfish. That had hurt, but she survived.

She hums and tilts her head diplomatically. "Ooh, " She perks up at the second part. "That other bit sounds lovely though. "She remarks warmly. "OOoh, aye I imagine so..I'd rather love to see some dolphins someday myself ..ahem, of late I've been stuck more in the coastal area of Maine.." She informs the other woman. She and Dor have been splitting their time tween StoryBrooke and here.

She didn't doubt that Tay would see such before she did. She missed being able to travel and 'realm hop.' "My husband's family are island folk but I'm not sure if ya would have heard of the place." She murmurs informingly and pauses slightly. Unless she studied a variety of legendary places..Or was more area-specific.

"Where they from? I might know. If not, wouldn't be that weird."
no subject
She smiles softly and lets out a breath. Well now or never the worse thing that could happen would she had to go into story mode about the place..Not that she minded that so much. "Aye, well have ya ever heard of the Isle of Lyonesse?" She asks softly. True there was many a realm and stories. A part of her was a wee bit hopeful. She did miss having a fellow scholar or folks (besides her dear hubby of course) who had an interest in such things to talk to.

Taylor quirked a brow at that. "Wasn't it supposed to be off Europe's coast... Wales? No, wasn't Welsh myths..." She shook her head, trying to remember exactly where she had heard the name. "It's something I remember only because most my Pirates came out of England, yay for colonization." The last bit, was totally sarcastic from the Korean-American woman from Hawaii.

Aal smiles softly and gives a little nod, "Aye, Welsh or Britiony area originally according to most sources." Course in some realms magic either wasn't as widespread in use and such as it had once been.
She hums and listens raptly. She tilts her head, "Ah..yes I wouldn't be surprised if some of those lot got ahold of various artifacts and the like. " Though she preferred more swashbuckler type of folks as opposed than who were little more than water bandits or worse. Her face softens a mite. "There're always rotten apples in most bushels unfountnently." She murmurs softly.
Though she has a small hopeful look after all the lass was semi-proof in a way that there were folks who weren't native to a place who could still love the lands and people in a multitude of ways.
She did not like bullies of any shape, size, or label/airs. But she did enjoy a good tale and history.
She had a feeling or least hoped Tay and her dear Dor would get on once they met.
Aal gives a slight wiggle, "Were ya tracking something to do with such when ya found yer way here lass?" She asks softly but also genuinely curious. Perhaps that could also help them find her door so when she had need of it as well.

"Sometimes those rotten apples though, are better for some of the sweetest deserts. Like using mushy ones for making applesauce." She countered, only because she loved reading about the people who skirt society, and applesauce was good to cook with when she went into her vegan moods every few months.
"I was, and I kind of got lost in the dig site, we found an old temple and well, since I'm the tomb raider in my crew, they sent me in. Means if I don't get back after... probably about eight more hours, they'll send someone to look, but I'm not too worried."

She tilts her head a wee bit, "Well, applesauce is nice..especially with cinnamon." She murmurs she did enjoy making various things after all. "My Gran has an orchard back home." She half comments conversationally a slightly wistful look in her eyes.
She hums slightly diplomatic, in a wary reserving right to be skeptical sort of way. She half hoped Tay didn't say run into someone like Hook (who was an infamous flirt and Rouge in the Enchanted Forest) or worse someday. But it could very well happen here and elsewhere. Though another part of her thought the lass likely to give certain sorts a run for their money.
Aal hums and nods, listening raptly blinking ever so often. "I see..So yer the scout and safety checker in a way?" She half asks half states, the only time she'd heard 'Raider' in a semi positive way was when it had to do with Laura Croft or Indiana Jones, to be honest. "There's some who say have magical talents who oft try and do Curse breaking or diffuse booby traps..or vice versa." She informs the lass.
Though any one of the benevolent sorts would have hopefully tried to steer mundane folks in the other direction..Where as if someone was not..or counting on such to say Or use it to any number of advantages. Her nose twitches.
"Well, I hope they won't come across anything, " She pauses and draws in a sharp breath. "More severe." She murmurs but nods. "Oh , any unusual carvings of the sort. Or neat looking ones?" She asks half curious and again trying to perhaps narrow things down.

Tay's more interested in a certain type of pirate, she can hold her own with flirting. "In a way. I'm just more careful when it comes to going around old tombs." Taylor's never really thought about it, though she has her uncle's luck most of the time when it's come to tombs.
"Lucifer was amused when he saw my sketchbook." She dug it from her pocket flipping to the page with quetzalcoatl's image from the stone wall. "That was from the last dig site actually, felt a little misplaced on Easter Island."

She slightly tilts her head. "Ah, well I'm glad to hear it." True some places could be prone or purposefully made to say collapse etc in certain areas. She smiles softly, "Just something to be mindful of." Though she'd be more than happy to help in some manner if she ever had the need. She slightly squints and subtlely scents the air as she scans the area. Her wolf side was already protective of the lass as it was. But talk of such made her hackles rise a smidgen.
Aal eyebrows go up pleasantly surprised. "Oh, ya met him already." She murmurs warmly at the mention of her other acquaintance and fast becoming freind. She chuckles warmly at the thought of the more earthy of let's say, brethren. As opposed to the more devious etc sort she'd heard etc of.
She smiles a little wolfishly, "You draw?" She murmurs almost giddy. Her whole face lights up she did some herself and was a lover of the Arts in all mediums.
She then hums half in thought going slightly more serious again, "I see..and aye..I mean they have the large statue heads mostly aye?" She half asks half states to clarify. Gesturing tall sizes etc with her hands. She softly makes a bemused sound half cough. "Mmh, yes I can imagine why..I've seen him take that or least a similar shape." She murmurs informingly. She actually got to piggyback a little ala Falcor and Atreyu style for a mite a while back.
She tilts her head toward the right in thought and nods as she puts a hand to her chin/lower face. "Aye, a little far afield unless some travelers or something or being..stories..made it that far."
Though she supposed in her other from if she had to she could probably do the same for Tay, or any of the more younger folk if say they needed to make a hasty retreat or when they got sleepy, etc.

Tay grinned a bit. "Yes that's Rapa Nui, Easter Island." She chuckled. "Though they aren't tied to South America as far as we knew, so finding the carving was odd." She looked at Aal amused. "He did not take a different form when I met him, but... The stories I remember reading hinted that he could."

But she and Dor did hope to get a project in the works with some of the Morningstar crew. After all their friend had offered. But she didn't wish to assume without talking with them first.
Aal smiles warmly at that, her ear wiggle at the new and interesting name for the place she'd heard tales of. She did so love learning new things or older as the case may be. "Oooh." She murmurs utterly intrigued. "Aye indeed." She rubs her chin with the back of her left hand in thought. "Tis puzzling." But very vera interesting.
"Was it rather large..or.." She gently prompts that could help narrow things down to, "I mean some things..can get.." She gestured to the area in general around. "Transplanted and transported erm or transfigured quite easily by some." Or by back-breaking labor by others. That would show/tell things as well would it not? One could not make bricks without clay or solves mysteries without facts and clues.
Her eyebrows go up bemused at first. Then her right eye twitches slightly as her face goes slightly pale as she swallows, "Ahem, aye..well..if he'd been in /that/ form I'd likely would have stayed in the tree I had been as there was..Several d-dozen other..s-s-s- snakes about at the time." She murmurs with a slight stutter and shudders despite herself. Things that were more dragonish she seemed to be fine about it..was..the..well probably among other things the no leg etc thing that freaked her out plus.. Could be very Dangerous bitey etc prone to give her nightmares.

"You have a problem with snakes?" Hey Taylor gets it really, she has an issue with spiders and huge crowds of people.
no subject
She hums a little high-pitched and uncertain. "Ermmmmmhhh." Before slightly tilting her head and nodding. Oh yes, speeches and a lot of strangers not her forte either. But one did what one must. Or try and talk to the more familiar face or faces in that crowd and project. She takes a deep breath in and then out. "Erm..aye?" She half asks half states with a slightly nervous chuckle. Not certain how Tay feels about them but so long as they leave her and other folks alone she'd return the favor.
Other than say Charlotte etc Aal had a boot or sneaker etc at the ready to help with things of that sort if and when they became an issue. Usually, she tried to shoo them away or at least make sure they didn't say someone transformed or cursed in some manner first.
no subject
Taylor doesn't mind them that much, but she makes the mental note to not bring one with her next time.

She gives a small smile doing her best to focus on something more positive. "Right, ahem well..How ya feel about a snack before we try and get some things for ya sorted?" She asks warmly.

Even if it might seem a small thing to the other woman, "I am?" She asks a little taken aback, though happily. Her lips twitching as she tries not to beam but her eyes light up. If her tail had been out it would wagging a mile a minute.
With a wee wolfish smirk, Aal softly clears her throat and squares her shoulders. "I am." Her tone a little more confident with a little head nod before notching it up a little regally and proudly." Ahem Well, most folks originate themselves via the plaza being as sometimes things." She motions her arms and hands in a rotating pattern. "Move around.. sometimes quite literally..and Well, one good thing about the place there's all sorts of options depending on what tickles yer fancy. " She murmurs warmly.
She makes a soft wry almost bemused sound, "So long as you use that bravery wisely ya should be fine." And if not, there will be words. She didn't care how big for their britches someone was. She twitches her nose, Tay was officially becoming one of her favorite new persons as it was. On top of her Den mother instincts kicking in.

"The only time it steered me the wrong way, ended up a good thing, because I ended up meeting my Birth dad." She rubbed the back of her neck. "And I learned try everything at least once. If it's good make sure you can find it later."
no subject
She hums and nods softly, "I see." She murmurs softly with a small smile. "I'm glad to hear it ended well then." She murmurs sincerely. She tilts her head. "Ah, in some cases. I tend to avoid raw and spicy things myself." She murmurs she was a mite cautious in certain areas herself. She chuckles softly and nods. "Aye, on that we agree."
no subject
"And more you talk about your significant other, more I'd like to meet him."
no subject
She hums softly trying to keep any canine sounds in the back of her throat. She did not think Tay was quite prepped yet for her 'party trick'. Or at least that one.
She grins at the latter, however, "Oh? " right pleased at hearing such, As she offers the other woman her arm mannerly as one would back in the day when going for a stroll turn about a room. "Well, that can be arranged easily enough. Though he's doing errands at the moment. " She reassures the younger woman warmly.
