Welcome Committee

There's been so many fresh faces to the Nexus recently, and more than a few of them have been children. Questions about finding a way home, about trying to decide if they want to go home. People wondering what to do now...

There are a few tables set out this morning in the Plaza in front of a small cafe loaded with several caraffes of coffee, breakfast pastries from more than a few different worlds and cultures, and a large pan of eggs and sausage kept warm over a chafing dish. On either end of the table are disposable plates, cups, and cutlery as well as a few welcome pamphlets in a small container. Along the front of the tables is a hand made banner.

"Meet and Greet"

Manning the tables is Katsuya Suou, red apron on and a cup of coffee in hand. He looks far too cheerful for how early in the morning it is.

"Right then, is anyone hungry? Have any questions about the nexus?"

He saves himself a talk from Blaze about acknowledging his deeds, that way. Humility is important, but her people - Titans in particular - have different priorities, and being unashamed to declare what you've done is among them. It's a morale thing too, of course. People need heroes. Sometimes they need to be those heroes.

"Really?" She sounds surprised, despite what she just said. But why shouldn't he, if his duties are taken care of? She supposes... "I guess if this is where you're needed more, that makes sense."

"I think it sounds very exciting to create something of your own like this," Ghost speaks up quietly, drawing a glance from Blaze.

"...Yeah." She sounds a bit distracted, but she means it. She lifts a hand to clap Katsuya's shoulder, ever the tactile one. "Sometimes it's not about the obvious kind of need. So the next plan is a Halloween party, huh?"

Eager, he says. Katsuya's going to sound downright enthusiastic at this rate.

"A block party?" Blaze tilts her head, unfamiliar with the term. It sounds good, though. "It's a fine idea. And a fine way to put your kitchen to the test. Guess we'll have to make time in our patrol schedule to stop by. Our Festival of the Lost is coming up about the same time, and I'll need all the organic people I can get to take some candy off my hands."

Blaze looks a little puzzled by the math on that candy bowl, but she breaks into a laugh when Katsuya asks his question - not mocking, more a slightly-abashed laugh from remembering the last time Katsuya saw evidence of her 'drinking'.

For the record that streetlight made a full recovery, all right?

"Oh, I don't consume anything, but it's nice of you to ask," Ghost assures him. "Blaze can drink- well, sort of."

"I just use any kind of powerpack or battery with a decent voltage and contacts I can get inside my mouth," Blaze explains with a shrug. "You really don't have to, though - it's not like I get hungry or thirsty. Only thing that changes when I'm buzzed is I talk too much and act goofier."

It's too bad for Katsuya: not only do glowing optic lights make a bot really, really good at curious stares, but Blaze is only too happy to shift the focus to him.

"Hey, you make it sound like a bad thing. Nothing wrong with cutting loose once in a while. Hell, that's half the point of festival masks."
