Wisdom begins in Wonder
She headed toward what looked to be a large building akin to something from back home, It was both an impressive and slightly comforting sight.
She scanned the area with her eyes, ears and other senses. Trying to make sure she was in the right place as she headed toward the stone steps. As well as keeping her eyes open for any hint or sign of her missing friend or any one who might know more about the nexus or other things of necessity and importance. Another part of her wondered if they might have a snack bar or vending machine that took the money she had on her as her tummy rumbled softly as she neared the large doors.
She wondered if there were a place for missing posters, and looked around for one as she cautiously looked around after poking her head in, looking for a desk of some sort. "Ahem, excuse me, but I was wondering if there was a form or something to apply for a library card? " She half asks a bit rambly and nervous all of a sudden. She wasn't exactly sure why but she was worried for Sherlock and was in need of some information and uncertain about where and when to get things in this ever shifting environment.

He gives her hand a shake with a weak grip and then folds his hands behind his back. "Are you new to the Nexus or just the library?"
no subject
" Ah I see. " She murmurs softly and wryly. Heh, travel section. She nods, "well that makes sense." She murmurs.
"Oh, ah newer to the library.. I ah been looking for my friend for a bit, he's been here longer then I have. "She murmurs in reply.

He listens attentively, glancing around every so often to make sure he's taking her in the right direction. "Can I ask your friend's name?"
no subject
"Oh, yes of course. Well his full name is William Sherlock Scott Holmes, but he usually goes by Sherlock.. " She pauses and lowers her voice. "Or basil. " before untucking the sketchbook under her arm and opening and flipping to some pages to show him a picture or two.

"It must be amazing to know someone like that," he continues, quieter than before.

She ducks her head a little and softly smiles bemused she could oft get excited like that too.
"It can be..a mite..chaotic at times, but he and John are some of my bestest best friends. I wouldn't change that for anything. " She states sincerely whispering as well. "course he's tendency of getting into trouble..ya know worries me most as I've not heard from him in a while." She adds quickly and seriously.
She shivered a little to think of him being hurt or kidnapped or something somewhere.

"Oh I can only imagine, and how hard it must be to find someone who chases after such impossible mysteries..." Catching himself, he turns to her, suddenly apologetic. "Sorry, not that I mean... I mean, you'll find him, it's just that... Never mind me. I never actually managed to read his books. The books about him. He's fictional in my world. I think. As far as I know."
Now thoroughly flustered he stops, clears his throat, and then hops on the spot when something catches his eye. "Oh, there it is." He trots on over to a bookcase with a bronze sign with 'Mystery' engraved into it.

She gives a small wry, cough of a chuckle. "Aye it can be.. if he's not getting into some sort of a row. Verbal or otherwise. " She informs him softly. She smiles at him kindly. "Yes, I understand. " She murmurs sincerely. Her but blue eyes soften.
She blinks and looks round the area, she smiles warmly. Peering round the case, and softly subtly sniffing the air and scanning the area for any clues. Or to see how the books are arranged , alphabetical or not.

"Er I'am not exactly sure, last I saw him was during that whole..trouble with ahem.. Khan." She murmurs softly. "He wasn't in any of the usual places that I checked." So naturally knowing Sherlock something had to have caught his interest in some ways.

"Let's sit down for a minute." He beckons for her to follow him to a table where he sits down and waits for her to get settled before he turns to her, hands clasped together. "We should make a timeline. Like a story. We know that at the end we want to find Sherlock, but we have to fill in the bits in between. So, we'll start at the start. What happened last time you saw him?"

She smiles softly and nods, and pads along and eases herself down with a soft sigh of relief. She had been walking and asking about quite a bit.
She smiles and pulls one of her notebooks out of her backpack and a mechanical pencil from a pocket and flips to a few pages with places and lists etc. That she'd gone over and such. "right well, " She begins and puts the tip of her pencil next to the top of one of the lists.
"We we're in the Underbelly, I believe it's called. " She thought back to that day for a moment
"I was trying to get a batch of kids to safety. He was getting wherever folks he could. " She began to explain.

Kicking herself for the hundredth time, she should have tried to find him sooner and put him over her shoulder. But then if she had that augment might have done who knows what to those kids.
She'd lost count of how many times she'd had to pull him out of trouble or patch him up and the like. She ruffles the back of her hair, rubbing her head and nape half in frustration and half in a pained sort of way.

Viatorus takes a moment to clear his throat before he looks at her again. "D-D-Did you a-ask around? Did anyone see him?"

He couldn't or rather wouldn't have just up and vanished if he had any choice in the matter. Course finding folks after battles we're hardly easy things. She wanted to at least maybe get some folks together and supplies before starting up a hunting party. If she didn't find any clues of him being on a case she didn't want to blow his cover either.
But this much radio silence worried her. Course he could be knocked out somewhere to. He sometimes worked himself hard and ragged on a case and crashed somewhere safe afterward usually very hard.

"Have you-?" He paused to swallow, to breathe. His voice was quiet, breathless. "H-Have you asked the people wh-who were-were rescuing p-people?" He goes even quieter, almost whispering. "Wh-Who were burying them?"
no subject
"Been looking for them to do so, I did look through any place where the wounded and others we're taken that I could find. " She should probably see about covering more places soon, she'd been looking for folks who'd been helping and gathering medical supplies first. Not wishing to go alone if she could help it. Buddy system in a new place always best. Though she would if she had to.
She paled a wee bit and looked at him sympathetically. Tentatively reaching out a hand toward him slowly. Not wishing to pat or touch him if he was uncomfortable with such. She watched for any sign of discomfort etc.

He only notices her attempt at physical comfort at the last minute. He flinches away and, in an effort to pretend he didn't notice, preoccupies himself with fishing out his PINpoint. "Have you tried scrying for him?"
no subject
She blinks at that, wait what? did he mean.. oh probably.. "um..is that something you do with that device?" She asks gesturing toward the pinpoint. Not one to convey that she could try the other older sort with the right tools right off the bat to strangers in a strange land.
Unless she got a sense they might be more incline to certain things. There we're people who didn't have a liking to magic users no matter their ilk or ethics etc.
no subject
"I meant using magic to scry for him. It's a way of locating people using magical means. There are different methods, with varying success rates, but I could scry for him, if you like."
