Time for a big ol' Nexus Block party

On a sleepy summer morning a wonderful smell begins to waft throughout the Nexus. For those familiar with this place there can only be one explanation but for those new faces to the nexus this may be a strange thing: seeing so many people flocking toward the sweet and savory scents perfuming the Nexus.

There are a few tables set out this morning in the Plaza in front of a small cafe loaded with several carafes of coffee, a myriad of pastries from more than a few different worlds and cultures, and a large pan of eggs and sausage kept warm over a chafing dish. On either end of the table are disposable plates, cups, and cutlery as well as a few welcome pamphlets in a small container. Along the front of the tables is a hand made banner.

Meet and Greet

Manning the tables is Katsuya Suou, red apron on and a cup of coffee in hand. He looks far too cheerful for how early in the morning it is. It's always satisfying to put one of these on and see the throngs of different people stuck in line together to get their food and find a place to sit among the tables and couches nearby.

"Right then, is anyone hungry? I've got more than enough here for everyone so please mingle among yourselves or feel free to ask me anything you'd like."

"That. Sounds. AMAZING!" Grizz is over the moon at the idea of a world where other animals talk. He sets the plate down in an area where him and Aslan can talk in peace.

"You must be the president of that world then! Or maybe a noble knight!"

"King of the Beasts." Aslan bows his head slightly. "I am honored to work with many noble knights of the land."

"And yourself? Where do you hail?"

"You're a king?! Do you have a really cool crown? I've never been in the presence of royalty before!"

Grizz is clapping his paws together after putting the plate of food down. "San Francisco, California!"

Aslan twitches an ear. His way of smiling.

"My mane is my crown." He explains. It is a very nice mane too. He keeps good care of it.

"California? Is that in the Land of Humans?"

"What?! I'll be sure to make you a crown you can wear then! Two is always better than one!" Grizz is smiling ear to ear at the idea of getting Aslan a crown. It'll probably be one from Burger King, but it's the thought that counts.

"Yeah. It's a city by the water where many people live. Not too many other talking animals though."

"Sounds very different from Narnia, where the only humans are the four High Kings of the land." Aslan sits, interested.

"Do you socialize with the humans a lot?"

"Yeah, our home is run by a guy known as a president. He's as powerful as a king though. Narnia sounds like a neat place to live though."

Grizz nods happily. "Of course! Me and my bros have met some nice humans, like Chloe and Ranger Tabes. We've started making some good friends, even if some people can be rude." He shrugs his shoulders. "Have you noticed that the people in the Nexus are super nice?"

"Does your president stay in position for centuries?" Aslan is curious. The only thing he knows about humans is the little information he gleaned from the High Kings and Queens.

"You could come visit. The other Beasts would welcome you."

"But there are some Beasts who can be rude too..." He chuckles.

"Only four years. Then people get to vote if he stays in power. I think the limit is 8 years."

Grizz can't help but smile brightly! "That would be awesome! I've wanted to go on an adventure since I got to the Nexus."

"I have always been curious about a democrat system." Aslan notes with another twitch of his ear.
