Time for a big ol' Nexus Block party

On a sleepy summer morning a wonderful smell begins to waft throughout the Nexus. For those familiar with this place there can only be one explanation but for those new faces to the nexus this may be a strange thing: seeing so many people flocking toward the sweet and savory scents perfuming the Nexus.

There are a few tables set out this morning in the Plaza in front of a small cafe loaded with several carafes of coffee, a myriad of pastries from more than a few different worlds and cultures, and a large pan of eggs and sausage kept warm over a chafing dish. On either end of the table are disposable plates, cups, and cutlery as well as a few welcome pamphlets in a small container. Along the front of the tables is a hand made banner.

Meet and Greet

Manning the tables is Katsuya Suou, red apron on and a cup of coffee in hand. He looks far too cheerful for how early in the morning it is. It's always satisfying to put one of these on and see the throngs of different people stuck in line together to get their food and find a place to sit among the tables and couches nearby.

"Right then, is anyone hungry? I've got more than enough here for everyone so please mingle among yourselves or feel free to ask me anything you'd like."

"It is one of my favorite colors." But let's be honest -- she likes all the different colors that are out there.

"Hello there handsome." She greets Zunar.

Clearly, she has good taste. Zunar's tail curls up high and he perches right on the edge of Jim's knee, leaning in her direction and batting a paw at her. Look at how cute I am. Get over here and pet me, please.

"Yeah, I can tell." Jim's still not quite sure what to make of her, but he nods towards a nearby chair. "Seat's not taken yet."

Harley takes the offered seat. And then reaches over to accommodate the offer of petting the kitten.

"Thank you for the offer."

"It is good to see you again."

Yesssssss, pets. Zunar's purring is almost loud enough to rival a starship at warp, and he rubs his face on Harley's hand, closing his eyes when her fingers find that favorite spot under his chin.

Jim rolls his eyes a little at the kitten's antics, but who could be bothered by the kneazle's happiness rolling around in the bond between them? Say no to drugs, kids, cats are the superior mood booster. "Yeah, it's been a while, hasn't it." Hard to be here as often as he was before shipping out, but he's getting a feel for his new routine by now. "How's the roller derby?"

Harley is good at finding the right spots. It helps her get out of trouble some days. And make friends when things get tough, and enemies are all around her.

"It has been a blast. I took Adia and Caspar to a game, and they really enjoyed it. You should come next time!"

Jim is somewhat surprised to find himself actually considering it. "Oh yeah? They were just spectators, right?" Hey, it never hurts to make sure before agreeing to something. Not that he's a stranger to getting punched in the face, but he'd prefer to know what the hell he's getting into, first.

"They were. They were invited to take in a practice, but preferred to stay off the skates." Harley explained. "If you wanna be a spectator, you can be a spectator."

"Sure, why not?" It sounds interesting enough to entertain him for an evening, as long as he can get his schedule to match up. "I'll watch anything once."
