Time for a big ol' Nexus Block party

On a sleepy summer morning a wonderful smell begins to waft throughout the Nexus. For those familiar with this place there can only be one explanation but for those new faces to the nexus this may be a strange thing: seeing so many people flocking toward the sweet and savory scents perfuming the Nexus.

There are a few tables set out this morning in the Plaza in front of a small cafe loaded with several carafes of coffee, a myriad of pastries from more than a few different worlds and cultures, and a large pan of eggs and sausage kept warm over a chafing dish. On either end of the table are disposable plates, cups, and cutlery as well as a few welcome pamphlets in a small container. Along the front of the tables is a hand made banner.

Meet and Greet

Manning the tables is Katsuya Suou, red apron on and a cup of coffee in hand. He looks far too cheerful for how early in the morning it is. It's always satisfying to put one of these on and see the throngs of different people stuck in line together to get their food and find a place to sit among the tables and couches nearby.

"Right then, is anyone hungry? I've got more than enough here for everyone so please mingle among yourselves or feel free to ask me anything you'd like."

"I am Aslan. King of the Beasts. From Narnia." He introduces himself. "I have not heard of Fabletown."

"Narnia. I've heard of that," Bigby says, dredging up dusty old memories to find which one's ringing this particular bell. Probably a mundy story, which means half of it is wrong. "Never met anyone from that part of the Homelands, far as I know."

Which goes some way to explain why Aslan's never heard of Fabletown. "It's a community for Fables in New York City. Where most of us went after the Exodus, sooner or later."

Nice to meet someone who doesn't know who he is, though. His reputation usually runs way the hell ahead of him. "Bigby Wolf."

"High King Peter is also around this area. So perhaps you will meet him some day." Aslan twitches his ear.

"Interesting." Aslan is curious about the Exodus.

"Good to meet you Bigby Wolf."

[big_bad_sheriff]

Bigby grunts, the name sounding sort of familiar. "One of four, right? None of his siblings made it out?" Tragic, but not rare, if so. Bigby can't think of a single Fable who didn't lose someone to the Adversary, one way or another.

"Made it out of what?" Aslan asks, a little curious. Is there danger he is not aware of? Something to be warned about?

[big_bad_sheriff]

That gives Bigby some pause. "The Homelands. When the Adversary attacked." He's heard of places in the Homelands that never saw invasion, but he hadn't thought it likely to ever meet any. "Hordes of goblins and trolls, wooden soldiers, and shit like that. They never reached your borders?"

"Not to Narnia." But Aslan is cautious to learn of potential danger. "We fought different wars. Different enemies."

[big_bad_sheriff]

"Huh." Bigby's not sure he'd call that lucky. But it's... something. "Every Fable in Fabletown, and the Farm, were forced to leave the Homelands because of that bastard."

"Perhaps it is something we must be cautious of. A reason we met?"

[big_bad_sheriff]

Bigby's not really into the whole destiny thing, but there's no point in antagonizing those that do, not when it's harmless that is. "Maybe." Either way, this could be a chance to warn the lion and help him avoid potential disaster. "If his forces ever do find you, don't underestimate 'em. If you need to get your people out, do it as fast as you can."

Aslan will take the warning quite seriously. He only wants what is best for his people. His land.

"Thank you. For letting me know. We can make an escape plan."
