Time for a big ol' Nexus Block party

On a sleepy summer morning a wonderful smell begins to waft throughout the Nexus. For those familiar with this place there can only be one explanation but for those new faces to the nexus this may be a strange thing: seeing so many people flocking toward the sweet and savory scents perfuming the Nexus.

There are a few tables set out this morning in the Plaza in front of a small cafe loaded with several carafes of coffee, a myriad of pastries from more than a few different worlds and cultures, and a large pan of eggs and sausage kept warm over a chafing dish. On either end of the table are disposable plates, cups, and cutlery as well as a few welcome pamphlets in a small container. Along the front of the tables is a hand made banner.

Meet and Greet

Manning the tables is Katsuya Suou, red apron on and a cup of coffee in hand. He looks far too cheerful for how early in the morning it is. It's always satisfying to put one of these on and see the throngs of different people stuck in line together to get their food and find a place to sit among the tables and couches nearby.

"Right then, is anyone hungry? I've got more than enough here for everyone so please mingle among yourselves or feel free to ask me anything you'd like."

"Impressing who?" Aslan looks around. He knows that people can be hesitant to approach a Season spirit. Especially one that does not have a human form.

"You are who you are."

"I'm frightening. It's important I hold onto my humanity knowing that...and I miss people. I was human once."

It feels so far away.

"And you still want to go back to that?" Aslan questions, curious. He never had a human form. He does not know how it would feel to have one.

[houmaprotector]

"I'm having a hard time balancing...my humanity with my duties. In my world avatars are chosen because they're human. They balance out the wills of the wild. The vapors, the black, the rot, the kingdoms need their champions."

He shakes his head, "I barely understand it myself truth be told. I just have nothing to tether between myself...and what I really should protect."

"The wild must be honored in its own way." Aslan knows this better than most. "If you try to tether it... the wild only gets more frenzied."

"Perhaps we should embrace the wild together. To allow you a chance to release what you have been holding back? And return to balance."

[houmaprotector]

Interesting.

"...What do you propose?"


The kingdom of the red teaming up with the green? It's worked before.

"Your name isn't Buddy is it?"

"I am a Warrior of the Wild. I can guide you through the wild."

Aslan chuckles. "No. Aslan."

[houmaprotector]

"...I sense the red from you. The living life - animal life. My green..." He pauses, "...What would it entail? Me learning from you?"

He's open to learning, "The parliament I serve, my guides, my warriors are...useless. Angry."

"Sometimes I wonder if they have the green's interest at heart."

"I take the Beast form. It is easier for me to embrace the wild."

"We could go on a hunt?" Aslan suggested.

[houmaprotector]

A hunt.

Plants do hunt. The waterwheel and the venus flytrap come to mind right away. Still the idea of removing enemies to the green is a useful one.

It appeals to him. The notion of hunting for those who might harm the green appeals.

"...Perhaps that would be...pleasing."

[thewiselion]

"We should meet up again, at a better time for a hunt. Perhaps at the end of summer?" He thinks that is when the Summer Guardian would need it most.

[houmaprotector]

"...Agreed." Alec nods, "It will be good to give the green free reign for awhile. Help me maintain...balance."

He nods, "Thank you."
