Time for a big ol' Nexus Block party

On a sleepy summer morning a wonderful smell begins to waft throughout the Nexus. For those familiar with this place there can only be one explanation but for those new faces to the nexus this may be a strange thing: seeing so many people flocking toward the sweet and savory scents perfuming the Nexus.

There are a few tables set out this morning in the Plaza in front of a small cafe loaded with several carafes of coffee, a myriad of pastries from more than a few different worlds and cultures, and a large pan of eggs and sausage kept warm over a chafing dish. On either end of the table are disposable plates, cups, and cutlery as well as a few welcome pamphlets in a small container. Along the front of the tables is a hand made banner.

Meet and Greet

Manning the tables is Katsuya Suou, red apron on and a cup of coffee in hand. He looks far too cheerful for how early in the morning it is. It's always satisfying to put one of these on and see the throngs of different people stuck in line together to get their food and find a place to sit among the tables and couches nearby.

"Right then, is anyone hungry? I've got more than enough here for everyone so please mingle among yourselves or feel free to ask me anything you'd like."

"Why not work with my Harley Squad for a bit? Protect a little piece of our world. And get to bash heads at the same time?"

Her team are heroes. They are heroes who are not afraid to get blood on their hands to save lives.

"...If I go back to our world without a degree of control I might hurt people." He pauses, "...I'm so new at this stupid hero thing. The guy who was doing this before me was really good at it. Better even at being a human. Did you know he was married? He had a child?"

He'll never have a child. These are things he think about.

"I don't want you to have to be worried about controlling me."

"Okay. You don't get it." Harley frowns for a moment.

"I hurt people. They ain't good people. And sometimes they ain't even people."

"It is what my team does. It would be a chance for you to get some of those urges out of your system."

"I don't worry about controlling anyone on my team. Just like none of them worry about controlling me."

"It ain't about control. It is about taking care of dirty business that none of the other heroes can do."

"...Taking care of the dirty business."

The notion appeals. He has to admit. An outlet that would help the green hunt down those who displeased it.

"If you wouldn't stop me, I agree to do so." To give into his dark side. Why not?

"There is some rules. Like when the bad guys are gone, and the dirty business is done... you need to reign in yourself."

"And if you don't think you could... we will pair you with Red."

"...I can manage that." Does he have any choice? He'd have to try, "...Red? Pamela?"

"She hangs out with us every now and then."
