Time for a big ol' Nexus Block party
On a sleepy summer morning a wonderful smell begins to waft throughout the Nexus. For those familiar with this place there can only be one explanation but for those new faces to the nexus this may be a strange thing: seeing so many people flocking toward the sweet and savory scents perfuming the Nexus.
There are a few tables set out this morning in the Plaza in front of a small cafe loaded with several carafes of coffee, a myriad of pastries from more than a few different worlds and cultures, and a large pan of eggs and sausage kept warm over a chafing dish. On either end of the table are disposable plates, cups, and cutlery as well as a few welcome pamphlets in a small container. Along the front of the tables is a hand made banner.
Meet and Greet
Manning the tables is Katsuya Suou, red apron on and a cup of coffee in hand. He looks far too cheerful for how early in the morning it is. It's always satisfying to put one of these on and see the throngs of different people stuck in line together to get their food and find a place to sit among the tables and couches nearby.
"Right then, is anyone hungry? I've got more than enough here for everyone so please mingle among yourselves or feel free to ask me anything you'd like."
((OOC: This thread is ALL ABOUT threadjacking and hopping. I encourage folks to tag on each other's comments and mingle rather than to reply only to me. This is a huge opportunity to have your characters interact with people they wouldn't have talked to before. Branch out! Meet new people! Scheme new schemes! Steal the last chocolate croissant!))

She glances tween her plates and offers the dessert plate towards him softly. After all if ya can't trust a Cap with your desserts who can you trust? At least that would not be a world she'd want to live in. She hums a "thank you." and slightly inclines her head.
Well, she hadn't wanted to get stuck in a long line just for nibbles. She knew how these kind of events could get.

"There we go. I'm impressed you didn't end up wearing any of this."

"Well, I've kinda gotten used to juggling things I guess.. within reason." She murmurs and then adds after a moment. After all, it takes is some unseen movement for a crash to happen especially if she knocks into someone or something. She then carefully places her other plate down and lowers herself down to sit with a shy but friendly smile. And trying not to be too awkward with her movements she did have her clutzy moments especially when she got nervous.
Not that she was scared of him or anything, it was more like..she wanted to make a good impression and not say/do any silly, star stuck or stupid things etc. Plus he seemed like a good guy on his own already minus his reputation.

No matter how many times it happens there's still a part of the Brooklyn native that wants to turn and look over his shoulder to see who someone could be giving those kinds of looks to. It might not be the best reaction but he ignores it best he can before gesturing to one of the baked goods on her plate.
"You're going to love the danish. I've already had two and I'm pretty sure I could eat the entire pile set out for how good they are."

She smiles warmly and chuckles good-naturedly at that. "Oh that's good to hear." She murmurs sincerely, she did like to sample a variety but not get too wild. She had to make an effort to save some things for later...or get some seconds to go if there's enough left over.
"Well, if ya got the metabolism for it." She chuckles warmly, before spearing some of her regular food onto her fork after mentally saying grace when she closes her eyes for a few moments.

Steve offers little more than a shrug after that comment. He's never been super pleased with how much food it takes to fuel this body as a kid who grew up during the Great Depression. It just feels wasteful even though he knows it's not. It's not like he's going to stop his work out regimens anytime soon or could go back to his real body. Gotta work with what he's given.
"There's never leftovers at my house."

Then her eyebrows go up, she did always like having baking days when she could get the ingredients. "Oh. Well, that can be..troublesome." She states softly and rubs her chin for a moment before she nibbles some more. "Do ya have a favorite dish or thing ya like to have around?" She asks conversationally.

Try being the operative word there. Steve eats out way more often than he'd like to be but sometimes he just doesn't have the mental energy after a mission to stand in front of a stove and make food for himself.
"With things rough back home, I try to do a meal prep day as often as I can in the Nexus and bring the food with us when we're out in the field. Stews and casserole type dishes are good for that. Lasagna too. It's kept spirits form sinking too low."

She nods and hums, "hmm, that's the ticket.." She murmurs and softly licks her chops before sipping her drink some. "Stews and lasagna are some of my faves too." She replies warmly. "Yes have to keep morale up, and nothing does that better than good food and company." She agrees and adds.
