Time for a big ol' Nexus Block party
On a sleepy summer morning a wonderful smell begins to waft throughout the Nexus. For those familiar with this place there can only be one explanation but for those new faces to the nexus this may be a strange thing: seeing so many people flocking toward the sweet and savory scents perfuming the Nexus.
There are a few tables set out this morning in the Plaza in front of a small cafe loaded with several carafes of coffee, a myriad of pastries from more than a few different worlds and cultures, and a large pan of eggs and sausage kept warm over a chafing dish. On either end of the table are disposable plates, cups, and cutlery as well as a few welcome pamphlets in a small container. Along the front of the tables is a hand made banner.
Meet and Greet
Manning the tables is Katsuya Suou, red apron on and a cup of coffee in hand. He looks far too cheerful for how early in the morning it is. It's always satisfying to put one of these on and see the throngs of different people stuck in line together to get their food and find a place to sit among the tables and couches nearby.
"Right then, is anyone hungry? I've got more than enough here for everyone so please mingle among yourselves or feel free to ask me anything you'd like."
((OOC: This thread is ALL ABOUT threadjacking and hopping. I encourage folks to tag on each other's comments and mingle rather than to reply only to me. This is a huge opportunity to have your characters interact with people they wouldn't have talked to before. Branch out! Meet new people! Scheme new schemes! Steal the last chocolate croissant!))

This gets more exciting by the minute! He beams. "Yes please! That would be wonderful! I-!" He catches himself and settles back into a sheepish smile. "I should check with Isidor though. She'll want me to be safe, but I don't think she'd be as excited about space as me. Let me ask her first and then I'll give you an answer."

"You're right. It would be rude of me not to give her some details so she understands where you're going. As your protector that's the kind of thing she'll want to know right?"
He hasn't sent anything yet, but the first thing he plans to send as soon as V lets him know what Isidor will want to know is 'I didn't tell him anything don't panic, he just wants to see Yorktown'.

"She'll want to know where I am, and how dangerous it is. Not just how dangerous the people are, but environmental dangers as well. And if I'll catch anything that might be detrimental to my health. Those are her main concerns, usually."

Isidor knows about Yorktown now; she might not have seen anything more than a glimpse of it through a window but she knows it's safe enough to frequent back and forth between at least on a few occasions considering her own personal use for the colony.
'V wants to see Yorktown, I was gonna give him a tour. It's a Starfleet base so it's as safe as you can get in my universe. He'd be under my supervision the entire time and you've been there yourself so you know the air isn't an issue. With the recyclers and scrubbers it's probably cleaner than the stuff he breathes on Earth.'
Definitely cleaner given the pollution in the 21st century but Jim knows better than to turn his nose up at anything from their worlds directly.
"I sent her a text, plus you know. I'll be right there with you the whole time. So you're not going to be stuck out there by yourself. I'm responsible for anything that happens to you or my world when I let someone visit, after all."

V looks up from his phone with a sheepish smile. "She wants me to take Lyall with me. Is that alright?"
no subject
"If he gets sick he won't be of much use out there..."

Jim is careful to return his empty mug and Viatorus' once he's finished with it to the bin for collecting any dishware that's not disposable. If V says Lyall will be fine then there's no reason to worry about otherwise. Especially if Isidor's insisting he will be too. Frankly, if he does get a bit woozy Jim's pretty sure he'll be more afraid of Isidor than his own unsteady feet.
"Yourktown's an artificial biome. Rather than terraforming a moon or a planet or showing any particular planet favoritism this far out where alliances are a bit more precarious and politics actively matter Starfleet built it's own colony. It's on the edge of a super dense nebula which they've been studying for years and because it's all man made it takes advantage of all the tech available to make the most out of a very limited space."
Something Viatorus will see when Jim takes them there.
