Time for a big ol' Nexus Block party

On a sleepy summer morning a wonderful smell begins to waft throughout the Nexus. For those familiar with this place there can only be one explanation but for those new faces to the nexus this may be a strange thing: seeing so many people flocking toward the sweet and savory scents perfuming the Nexus.

There are a few tables set out this morning in the Plaza in front of a small cafe loaded with several carafes of coffee, a myriad of pastries from more than a few different worlds and cultures, and a large pan of eggs and sausage kept warm over a chafing dish. On either end of the table are disposable plates, cups, and cutlery as well as a few welcome pamphlets in a small container. Along the front of the tables is a hand made banner.

Meet and Greet

Manning the tables is Katsuya Suou, red apron on and a cup of coffee in hand. He looks far too cheerful for how early in the morning it is. It's always satisfying to put one of these on and see the throngs of different people stuck in line together to get their food and find a place to sit among the tables and couches nearby.

"Right then, is anyone hungry? I've got more than enough here for everyone so please mingle among yourselves or feel free to ask me anything you'd like."

The burrito smell still interests Aslan, but that is the only food on his mind.

"Spanish is a good language to learn. It is the second-most-spoken language in the Land of Men." Aslan twitches his ear with amusement.

"But that might change now... with this computer language." That is one language Aslan does not understand.

"Y-yeah I mean that's why I'm taking it?? Aunt May says it'll be a good notch to have on my belt which is a weird thing to say because that usually means you're like too skinny to wear pants properly or the like which is kinda true in my case but--"

Wow, ramble much Petey? He busies himself with stuffing the rest of his burrito into his mouth before he can shove his own foot further into it. After a moment of chewing and swallowing he polishes off his drink before setting both empty vessels aside on a nearby table.

"There's a lot of those too. Computer languages I mean."

"I am not familiar with clothing-related metaphors." Aslan chuckled.

And now that delicious smelling food item is gone. What was it? He never got his answer.

"Is it difficult to speak to a computer?

An unfortunate result of engaging in conversation with one Peter Parker, sadly. Without guidance to stay on topic he does tend to ramble on and get distracted. He doesn't even remember the original question anymore.

"I mean, no more different than learning any other language I think. You jus' gotta learn how to talk to 'em. Different languages are used to do different things, you know? Some of them write programs or networks or security. All kinds of things."

"Can you teach others to talk to computers?" Aslan would like to learn.

"I might? I dunno that I'm qualified to teach anything yet but they say that teaching's the best way to learn something too you know? At the very least I could show folks how to fix their computer. I know my way around the hardware better than the software."

That sounds like a lot of time spent in the Nexus Not doing his extra curricular activity though. Hm. That is worrisome.

"If you were willing to show me more of these computers, I would be willing to help you in return." Aslan offers.

"Slight problem, I mean maybe? Unless I find something voice activated you're going to have a hell of a time selecting anything on a computer."

Just trying to picture this big lion moving and clicking a mouse or a touchpad seems unreal.

"Maybe I could get you a stylus and you could poke at a touchscreen but that would be so slow..."

Aslan holds out one of his large paws. Nodding slightly at Peter's assessment.

"I know many smaller animals who can help me. Or perhaps I could introduce you to High King Peter the Magnificent."

Who in the what now? That's one heck of a title this Peter's got going on here. Guess someone didn't grow up reading the classics for literature because Peter hasn't caught on just who he's talking to.

"Wait, I'm Peter. You know a King Peter too? That's so weird."

"I know many Kings and Queens. Lords and Ladies." Aslan realizes he has missed introducing himself.

"Greetings to you Peter. I am Aslan. King of the Beasts."
