Time for a big ol' Nexus Block party

On a sleepy summer morning a wonderful smell begins to waft throughout the Nexus. For those familiar with this place there can only be one explanation but for those new faces to the nexus this may be a strange thing: seeing so many people flocking toward the sweet and savory scents perfuming the Nexus.

There are a few tables set out this morning in the Plaza in front of a small cafe loaded with several carafes of coffee, a myriad of pastries from more than a few different worlds and cultures, and a large pan of eggs and sausage kept warm over a chafing dish. On either end of the table are disposable plates, cups, and cutlery as well as a few welcome pamphlets in a small container. Along the front of the tables is a hand made banner.

Meet and Greet

Manning the tables is Katsuya Suou, red apron on and a cup of coffee in hand. He looks far too cheerful for how early in the morning it is. It's always satisfying to put one of these on and see the throngs of different people stuck in line together to get their food and find a place to sit among the tables and couches nearby.

"Right then, is anyone hungry? I've got more than enough here for everyone so please mingle among yourselves or feel free to ask me anything you'd like."

She lets Jesse pull away when she will. Honestly, having his approval as well as Blaze's decree in the first place fills her heart fit to bursting.

"Yes. My magics are useful to Blaze but they are not indefinite. Firepower is much easier to maintain in a prolonged assault." That Jesse also approves just makes Nike that much more sure of herself. "Until then I will fight to keep everything you and Blaze hold dear safe. You need only call. I will not hold you back."

"Ain't ya'll already earned it? Near as I can tell, all fights you've thrown in with always had yer side winnin'. 'Sides, you may be rank 'n file in Heaven, but down here amongst the sinners, yer lofty as y'all can git. Don't go sayin' yer not worthy of nothin', cuz y'are." A nice cowboy peptalk.

"I'll keep yer aid in mind too. I dunno how much I can git away with callin' you back in Castlegar. Seein' an angel would start riots fer sure. At LEAST two gangs would prolly start torchin' things and kickin' up a fuss. And if two get goin', ain't long a'fore the rest start feelin' the heat." Politics are complicated back where Jesse comes from.

Oh, well now that explains quite a lot about the time they've been apart. If her arrival on a scene would cause more harm than good then it's no small wonder why he hasn't called on her for help for so long.

"I have a purpose helping Blaze with her missions, so I will keep busy either way. I do not wish to have my presence do ill to you or your world. I...only wanted you to know that my skills are always there for you to call upon if you would need them. Even in another world, it's your soul I'm bound to. Also Blaze gave me a peculiar device to traverse dimensions without being summoned through my contract. It has proven quite useful."
