Wisdom begins in Wonder
She headed toward what looked to be a large building akin to something from back home, It was both an impressive and slightly comforting sight.
She scanned the area with her eyes, ears and other senses. Trying to make sure she was in the right place as she headed toward the stone steps. As well as keeping her eyes open for any hint or sign of her missing friend or any one who might know more about the nexus or other things of necessity and importance. Another part of her wondered if they might have a snack bar or vending machine that took the money she had on her as her tummy rumbled softly as she neared the large doors.
She wondered if there were a place for missing posters, and looked around for one as she cautiously looked around after poking her head in, looking for a desk of some sort. "Ahem, excuse me, but I was wondering if there was a form or something to apply for a library card? " She half asks a bit rambly and nervous all of a sudden. She wasn't exactly sure why but she was worried for Sherlock and was in need of some information and uncertain about where and when to get things in this ever shifting environment.

Her attention returns to the sketchbook as Ash flips to the pages bearing sketches of a mouse dressed in tweed. She's unfamiliar with Disney or a mouse detective, but it's easy enough to figure out what her friend's secret is. "He turns into a mouse?" She looks from the drawings to Ash, to be sure that's the case.
no subject
She smiles softly and nods. "Aye, he can be quite sensitive about it. But if he's hurt or somethings can make him act very mouse like.. and he's good at hiding. " She murmurs softly. And if he's hurt or scared back enough he could be stuck like that. And so many things could hurt or happen to him.

She won't assume that Sherlock is the same person as that unpleasantly cold man, at least. If he ever gets found. Which is starting to sound like a difficult prospect. If he's currently in mouse form, it'll be even harder to track him down. She worries at her lower lip, trying to think of something optimistic to tell her new friend. "What sort of places in the Nexus did he like to visit? Have you tried looking there?"
no subject
"Aye, true." She murmurs.
She rubs her chin, "Well, I thought he might be here or left some sort of clue. As we both like books and it's one of the er steadier landmarks..Last I saw him was in the UnderBelly..though during that..messed up battle." She infroms her softly, and looks both guilty that she couldn't do more. and then thoughtful. As she looks away her eyes going back and forth.
"Aye, um where any place with interesting things or possible cases...places with good cheese." She murmers after a moment.

The mention of the Khan invasion brings a sober expression to her face. "Was he hurt?" she asks in concern. "I was treating the injured in the Plaza, but I didn't see anyone like him pass by."
Places with interesting things describes about three-quarters of the Nexus, so it's not much of a lead. Her comment about cheese makes her smile, though. "Well, if we don't find any clues here, there's a cheese shop in the shopping district. I remember seeing it once when I was out with a friend." Adia supposes that if she were a mouse, that'd be a nice place to hide.

"Ah, I'am not sure he wasn't last I saw him but he.. does get himself into a lot of scrapes. He might have laid low somewhere and try and get supplies if he couldn't find someone right away if that's the case.." She states and swallows and looks concerned. "I hope no ones like caught him in something. " She states matter of factly he did have a history of getting kidnapped. "But then there's the..er safety field thing right? but then ..we've..seen how even that has limits."
She remarks slightly pale. Another reason she was here to find out what information she could. And maybe some folks who could be of assistance.
She'd been trying to rack her brain and search as well, but she could only cover so much ground on her own. And it wasn't like him not to leave clues..Or something. She had to keep trying to contact him in various ways she thought for the hundredth time.
She looks hopeful at that and smiles softly. "Well I'll certainly have to check that out..sounds lovely." maybe she could find some place she could bake some crumpets too. He loved fresh cheese crumpets and ginger-nuts. Plus it helped her work out her stress and perhaps have something to barter with and the like.

It's easy to sympathize with Ash's worry. Many people were injured that day. Many people died, their bodies still unclaimed. She's not sure anyone would want to kidnap her friend, but it's not outside the realm of possibility. "The anti-violence field," she confirms. She smiles at Ash in an attempt to be comforting. "It's true that it isn't perfect, but it is working fine now. And your friend is very smart, he'll know to stay in a safe area where he's protected by it."
She's glad that the cheese shop has cheered her up a little. "I've never been in," she admits. "It looks very nice, though."
no subject
"Oh well if yer sure." She states slightly surprised her currently wolf shaped ears under her hood perking up a bit.
"Ah.. good yes hope so." She murmurs hopeful he hadn't been distracted by something that was his equivalent of a 'shiny'
"Ah perhaps we could go together some time then?" She half asks half suggests. Rather preferring something like the buddy system especially in a strange place.
no subject
It would be nice to visit the cheese ship with her new friend. She smiles brightly at the suggestion, only hesitating slightly at the thought of how she'd pay for anything. "I'd like that. And an extra set of eyes would help in case your friend is there."
no subject
"Aye.. me too and it would indeed." She replies warmly nodding. her ears wiggle slightly but not too much.
no subject
"Do you see anything about him at all?" she asks Ash as she scans the flyers for a sign of her friend. "Or a clue?"
no subject
"Um not as yet. " She states as she starts to carefully look under flyers as well.
no subject
Adia tries to be helpful, keeping her eyes on the board while Ash searches more thoroughly. But if Sherlock left a clue for his friend, Adia can't spot it. "How long have you two been friends?" she asks curiously. "Did you meet him here, or where you're from originally?"

She blinks slightly.. "oh..be about..four..years now." She murmurs give or take the years under a time/people trapping memory messing dark curse. She gives her a soft smile.
"Oh, Maine we meet in Maine." She murmers quickly and warmly. Still a mite cautious. She seemed very nice but they'd been having various folks come into town and stir up trouble as well as the internal problems at late. She didn't want folks getting dragged into such unawares.
no subject
Maine... Maine. She has heard of it before, she thinks. "That's a state in... the United States? On Earth?" She smiles apologetically. "I'm not from Earth so my geography is a little shaky."
no subject
She smiles softly and nods, "Aye..that's right." She murmers warmly in reply an eyebrow. "Ah I see." She responds. "soo..are ya part of the enterprise or some other crew?" She asks conversationally and warmly.
no subject
There is a lot of sadness packed into that last sentence, but she tries not to let it show. She's only just met Ash, she does not need to weigh her down with a sob story. "It's funny you mention the Enterprise, there's a possibility that I'll be living in that universe soon enough."
But enough about her. "What's Maine like?"
no subject
"Ah. well it is the most.. well know starship in.. um some places." She murmurs with a slight left shoulder shrug.
"Oh, well.. it's by the shoreline, can get rather cold in the winter..has lots of fish famous for it's lobsters..and woodlands." She begins starting with the normal stuff.
no subject
Her description of Maine is simple, but picturesque. "It sounds beautiful," she says softly. "I think I'd like to live on Earth someday... do you think Maine would be a nice place to live?"
no subject
Her eyes soften slightly with sympathy. "Well.. I would be willing to hear any pitches if ya like to run any drafts by me. " She murmurs in offer.
"Well, aye when .. it's peaceful. " She murmurs and nods. Which for StoryBrooke rarely lasted long lately, but the average sea side town seemed to be from her research. "Depends on your preference I suppose. Like most house hunting. " She adds warmly. " it's been rather hectic in our neck of the woods naturally with various ahem characters about. " She feels compelled to inform.
no subject
"Oh..." She blushes a little at the offer, grateful but still terribly self-conscious. "I haven't quite gotten that far... um. If you needed to convince someone that the Nexus was real, how would you go about doing that? Short of just bringing them here."
Her elaboration on Maine gets a small eyebrow raise. When would a seaside fishing village not be peaceful? "What sorts of characters?" she asks innocently.
no subject
"Oh, that's alright.. maybe brainstorming then?" She half asks as she looks up and down the area to see what else is near the bulletin board.
She raises a slight eyebrow, but gets a slight hopeful/playful gleam in her eyes. Mayhaps she should test some reasons to certain thoughts. She did have space experience.. prehaps she'd be a bit open minded?
"Ya mean besides, Sherlock and Moriarty?" She asks wryly yet slightly warm. "Have ya ever heard of Snow White and the Seven dwarfs?" She asks warmly. After all not all realms had the same sort of fairy tales and legends but some had common threads and archetypes.
no subject
"It's, um... I've been keeping the Nexus a secret for so long." She smiles nervously. "It's a little intimidating to finally share that with someone."
Adia has no idea that Ash meant characters "literally". She still doesn't, giving the other woman a blank look. "Um... I've heard of dwarfs..." Although something about that phrase triggers a memory, a book she might have looked through when trying to acquaint herself with Earth mythology. "Is that a... a fairy tale?"
no subject
She blinks back, ah she was gonna take that as a possible no.. till. ah. "ah yes I see. hmmmh yes it is. but ah not..only yet.." She half trails off slightly and clears her throat.
no subject
Yet, despite not being familiar with magic or Earth fairy tales, she's quick to catch on to what Ash is implying. "They're real where you are from?" she asks curiously.
