oversized shoes and long luxurious locks
After the Dawning event, Rapunzel had received some advice on where to purchase shoes. So now the previously barefoot woman is proudly wearing a pair of men's shoes, that are two sizes too big for her. She sits on the edge of a fountain in the Nexus, admiring a lily that had floated by.
The long, long, long cascading length of her hair is wrapped around the base of the fountain a few times.
"Did you know that some flowers have meaning to them?" She excitedly asks someone who was walking by. "I just learned that the Oenothera means wine seeker. Which is funny... because I don't even know what wine is..."
"Should I be seeking some wine?" She asks again, just as excited.
"There are so many things I have never tried before... if you had to experience something for the first time, all over again... what would it be?"

"Uerm." she murmurs in half uncertain thought as she gives the younger-looking lass a look over. Her motherly healer instincts kicking in, "Well, that depends on how old ya are I suppose..and if ya not had such before I would say a small amount to try. Such can be very potent." She informs her gently. As she pads over to carefully look for a spot to sit. Going by the excitement she figures she's in a try new things sort of mood then? "Ah, I see. "
She then glances about wondering who might be say 'courting her in such a fashion. IT had been a while herself since she had to decipher such messages. Her hubby usually went with the roses and the like these days.
She tilts her head in thought and rubs her chin, "Mmh, That's a very good question." She murmurs pondering in thought.

Not much can harm Tua. He can simply de-materialise should danger threaten, but his higher gods watch over him carefully. For this reason, not so far away, fae bodyguards hover around. They're not invisible as such but they use fae glamour to stop people from easily noticing them. They're not poised for aggression either, understanding the Anti-violence field; merely looking out for their Anori chieftain.
“Whoo. Well. Many centuries ago, as an ugly chick,” he tells the young woman. “I was pulled from danger by a child-god who then adopted me. His first smile at me caused the clouds to part, revealing a clear blue sky. I would give much to see that again.”
no subject
"He sounds amazing... I am glad to hear he pulled you from danger."

He thinks for a bit, and then says, "I wish I could advise you on the matter of wine. The truth is, owls are ignorant on the nature of its flavour."

She circles around the fountain slowly, studying the glow of the woman's hair. It feels like the reverse of the Darkening, perhaps not as strong, but getting too close pushes a little, like the same poles of two magnets being butted up against each other. She's fascinated!
"I love flowers, but I don't know the names of most of them," she tells the woman when she reaches to a point where she can see her face. "My clan lives mostly underground so we didn't see them often. There are plants but they don't bloom so much; mostly mosses."
"Wine is delicious, but if you drink too much you'll feel lightheaded or sick. Just remember that and keep to only a glass or two." She giggles softly. Deet isn't one to judge about being drunk, but people should know what they're getting into.
"But I think if I were going to choose, I would want to fly for the first time again. Maybe without running into the walls of the caves quite as much."
no subject
"I would imagine living underground is similar to living in a Tower. That you see a lot of the same things over and over."
"That is good advice. I will be sure to take it easy, since I have not drank any before."
"You can fly?" Rapunzel is raptured.
no subject
"Yes, I can fly! I have wings." She keeps them under her cloak for comfort; the sun is a little too much on them sometimes. But now she lets them flare behind her; they look a little bit crystalline, like a dragonfly's wings, but they're more flexible than they seem. "I guess you've never seen a gelfling before? My name's Deet."

"I think flowers are most beautiful as is a good glass of wine. If you do not know what wine is I may offer you a glass? That is if you are old enough to drink."
Hunter wasn't sure. She looked as if she could be of drinking age but it was hard to tell sometimes with the Nexus residents. These weren't reckless rockstars but creatures from all worlds and walks of life. Sitting down close by he offered her a friendly smile.
"I would chose to experience singing my first song in front of a live audience. That was the most magical thing for me to see everyone staring back, cheering and screaming with joy."
no subject
"I have sung before. But what is a live audience?"
no subject
The Swede offering the young girl a sheepish smile. He realised she must not have been to a live show before which was an awful shame but he would explain none the less. Pushing some hair back, Hunter couldn't help but stare at her long hair. He'd never seen anything like it before.
"A live audience is when you perform to lots of people at once. A crowd of fans with you on a stage with lights shining on you. It's really quite magical."

"i know some have meaning, but to be honest i don't know much about it. not many flowers in the underground, and those we do have we don't have a whole lot of books on." He chuckles to himself as he adds "You could say we lilac the ability to find out."
Eyyy, that was a good one. He's a little proud of that one. He opens his eyes, pin-pricks if white light fixing on her now out of the corner of his eye sockets which are dancing with both curiosity and mischief. "drinking at this time of day? how merlot can you get?" You may be picking up quickly on the idea that taking things seriously is not his M.O. "but if you want to seek wine, tavern's probably the best place."
The last question has him closing his eyes again, as he contemplates. "surely the point of experiencing new things is so that you don't experience them again?" And again and again and again... he's had enough of experiencing things over. Which is why he is already liking it here. "have you got something you enjoy enough that you'd rather do that than something new?"
no subject
His pun using the word lilac helps calm Rapunzel a little.
"What is a merlot?" Rapunzel is not sure about that word, but does get that he is attempting another play on words. "What is a tavern?"
"I do not know. There are so many things that I have not enjoyed. And so many things that I did over and over again while I was at the Tower."
no subject
He honestly doesn't mind answering her questions as best as he can, it's been a while since he'd experienced something new himself and this place was enough to get his own skull ticking over. "merlot's a kind of wine. tavern's a... well, by sticking my nasal bone in, they're like grillby's place but i know that won't mean a lot to you. you can get food and drink."
The last bit has him cocking his malleable eye sockets in a way that conveys his both curiosity and almost disbelief. "sounds like you didn't get out much. i can relate." He holds out a mittened hand to her, and if she's particularly perceptive, she may notice an ever so small bulge of the glove that contradicts he's all bone. If she's not, and she shakes it? Very tiny whoppee cushion. He has some classics, and whoppee cushion in the hand trick is always funny. If she leaves him hanging, oh well. He's not the type of skeleton to get offended by such things and will just put his hand back down. "i'm sans, sans the skeleton, and it's nice to meet you."

A few paces past the strange young woman and her flood of questions, he stops abruptly. What better way to burn off a bit of anger than to take it out on someone else? He turns on his heel and traces his steps back to the girl.
"What are you talking about?" he demands, arms akimbo. "You don't even know what wine is? Are you stupid?"
no subject
"Mother never let me have wine." She answers meekly.
no subject
"Does your mother know you're here?" he asks teasingly, crossing his arms.

She's only about twice as tall as a human, because she's not an adult yet. And she doesn't have a purple badge welded to her armour plate; she only has a necklace with a purple crystal heart on it, when she's a girl. When she's a jet, the big stone dangles inside of her smoky glassteel cockpit.
Silverwing has been watching this strange organic female for a little while. She has always thought 'hair' is kind of pretty, although it would be inconvenient to have in the air. But there's so much of this pale golden hair! How does this person not get caught in everything?
"Flying," she says, without hesitation, after the question is asked. "I love flying, it's the most fun, best thing in the world! I'm Silverwing."
no subject
"I watched birds fly. The little ones... when they learn... it is amazing how quickly they pick it up. And take to the air."
no subject
She giggles a little. "And then they put a harness on me, so they could hold onto me if I started to fall, and started taking me with them when they flew. It's really the best thing. The air on your face and under your wings, and you can see so many cool things from up there! It's a lot like being a bird, although Seekers aren't beastformers."
She flushes, a little bit pink. "I'm Silverwing," she repeats. "What are you called?"

"Personally my favorites are the flowers that can grow on the ocean. I'm not sure about their meanings though, never really thought of them." She giggled. "I don't know you don't quite look like you'd be able to handle wine. Maybe try something a little lighter first." Taylor wasn't trying to be rude the long haired girl didn't look older than seventeen at the oldest.
"You sheltered you're life or somethin?" Because damn it if Taylor didn't know all about that. "And that's a loaded question for some of us."
no subject
"No one has to answer the question, if they do not want to."

"You're right. Just I'm a little wary thanks to a damned mutt." Okay she may be spending too mush time with Dean. "Though goin' ta UoH may be something I would do again. Transfer out in the first semester."
