Spidey's Charity Winter Fair!
Tis the season for giving and gifting, for doing right by your neighbors and strangers alike.
The Nexus is no stranger to parties and gatherings by now. Fliers have been put up--banners arewebbed hung up around a sectioned off block of the Plaza inviting all and sundry to come partake in a charity winter fair. Its host zips between tables to help carry anything heavy or to make sure those who need it have access to power. Spider-Man might be a recognizable Hero back home, but here he's dwarfed in size and abilities alike by the powerhouse volunteers who are helping make his idea take shape in reality. Gods, otherworldly individuals of races Spider-Man can't even guess at--but people too.
So many more than Peter could have expected.
Soon one side of the street is awash in seasonal aromas as tables get assembled laden with pies, jams, and drinks ready to be served up to interested guests. Spidey makes sure to drop off a little bag of hand made sweets to one of the volunteers who brought her kids along to make sure they don't get fussy or left out of all the fun. His head spins when he thinks of how much grander this is than just the one or two tables he and Matt discussed when they were talking out plans. It's really happening.
He's quick to jump over to the other side of the street and grab up a snow shovel to clear away space for the spots being set up for entertainment. Every shovel full of snow he clears for a puppet theater can get dumped into a pile beneath a rigged up seat for a dunking booth of sorts. Already curious onlookers point and laugh, their voices carrying in the crisp air eager for the games about to be played.
In the center of the sectioned off block sits their headquarters for the event where tickets can be sold, raffles held, and a table set up for straight donations just next to it. The man behind it is far more calm than the young costumed man who leans up against the table to catch his breath once everything seems to be coming together.
Spidey's hopeful when he looks over his shoulder to ask, "How many folks d'you think are gonna come?"

Donation Table
While others offer activities and goods for sale, Matt's table is one that offers nothing but the satisfaction of knowing that you've helped a person in need. Large plastic bins sit on either side, some pushed halfway underneath the table itself, slowly accumulating donated goods. Canned food in one, medicine in another. Toiletries, blankets, children's toys. Small things, mostly; whatever can be spared from closet or pantry, little gestures that add up to make a difference to those with nothing.
A handmade banner is draped from the edge of the table, which reads Donations Here in painted letters. Behind it, Matt sits ready with a friendly smile, face turned toward the next person he hears approach the table.
more a continuation from the main post question ;)
"I-I mean we already got just. So many. People hosting tables, you know? And--just. What. What if it's a bust?" People are counting on him here. You'd think by now a costumed vigilante would be used to that sort of thing, but here they are.

It was a delight to see that there was a fundraiser and several activities and goods on display. She smiled at the site of donated goods, canned food, and brightened to see that they were also collecting medicine and other toiletries.
Hermione stopped at the Donations Here table, where Matt was sitting.
"Quick question. Is there a easy way to convert any money donated? My world works on a different system than most other places I have visited."

Re: Donation Table
"I'm going to be fine," She responded. "Go have fun with my brothers. You three are just going to owe me later, now you don't mind, I'm going to have my own little vacation." She hung up the phone before whomever she was talking to could answer.
Pulling out her wallet from her backpack pocket she thought a moment. "I'm going to guess the donations are for your world? I've already made a few to my favorite charities in Gotham."

"The Sifa clan and I wished to make some contributions to the cause. We approve of the work you and...Spider-Man have done here." The Mariner puts a bag of wooden toys in the appropriate bin, several made by the clan themselves in Thra and a few in the Nexus. "They're for the children, of any species."

"Hi..." She greeted shyly, shifting from one foot to the other slightly. "I ah...had heard there was a donation table and I have a bunch of things that I crocheted and knitted so..." She nodded and her Ghost Hax shimmered and appeared over her shoulder before a box transmatted into existence at Widget's feet. She hefted it up onto the table and opened the lid. It wasn't an overly huge box, but it contained a collection of hats, scarves mitts and even blankets.

"This should help many." He reaches out and puts a stack of solid gold coins on the table in front of Matt, stacked up like poker chips at a betting table. "I am certain you will put it to good use, yes?"

Spider-Man's Spider Treats
A couple plates have piles of chocolate covered Oreos with little pretzel bits stuck into the sides to make legs. Another few are full of sugar cookies with extremely poorly done frostings on them. A sure sign of a novice at work. There's a large coffee tin webbed to the table with an opening cut into the lid. The instructions taped to the can say "Leave what you can, enjoy the treats!" in harried handwriting.
The table will be mostly unattended but every now and then Spidey himself will drop by to check in and see how things are going...

"This is all I have, just a couple of dollars from my world. Hope that's okay," she says as she takes a sugar cookie and smiles slightly, sort of charmed by the er, artistic choices made.

Re: Spider-Man's Spider Treats
He chuckles warmly as he soothing rubs his little back. The little table or rather perhaps the charming little treats catch his eye as he murmurs softly to his son. "Shall we bring something back for Mama and the girls' little man?" He asks and he gently nuzzles Gawiany. And begins to pad over to look over the wares and fishes into his trousers' pocket once he makes sure his son's securely against him and wrapped in his other arm.

The Satirist knows how things are done here well enough to choke back what little skeksis pride he has left and offer the costumed man some gold. Rules are rules, although he's no longer affiliated with the Court.
"I heard there was a party," the birdlike creature says, voice quiet with the hint of a rasp. "I am skekLi."

Winter Dunking Extravaganza
This Dunking Booth is designed with winter in mind. There is a large pile of white fluffy snow piled underneath a large sitting area.
Harley Quinn is standing near the booth, with a pile of snowballs ready to be fired at the target too.
She is hoping for people to have fun at the booth by throwing snowballs at the target, to dunk someone into the snow. Plus, perhaps there are a few willing volunteers who are willing to sit on the seat, and get themselves dunked.
She has blankets and hot chocolate ready at the side, for any volunteers who get dunked into snow a little too much. After all, today is all about having fun, and enjoying the snow together.
((Volunteers for the Snow Dunk Tank are welcome to take a seat and help raise money))
Re: Winter Dunking Extravaganza
Eyeing the booth curiously with gold eyes lined in black, the Hunter hummed thoughtfully. "Well, this looks interesting. So someone sits on that, and another tries to hit the target? Huh...my aim is too good it wouldn't be fai-"
"Oh stop, you are so full of shit." Katiri drawled, approaching her team mate. "You get in the hot seat and I'll be happy to hit your face with a snowball."
"That's if you can hit me!" Kojin bantered, dancing out of reach cheekily.
Luce hovered at Katiri's shoulder and was audibly cackling. "Oh hi Harley!" The Ghost greeted.

Volunteers as Tribute
"Do you need a volunteer?" He asks Harley but he might just climb into the booth even if he was told no.
[OOC: If someone wants to dunk Aarne, feel free to let me know.]

“Oh, man, you set up a dunking booth in the snow!” He grinned, finding the attraction one of the coolest things out here. In more ways than one, too. “This is awesome.”

Heavenly Drinks Stand
A banner hung from the table with the name of the tea house in both English and Japanese. For those not interested in tea, there was also some hot chocolate available. A couple of small braziers crackled merrily to keep the monks and passerby warm.
The wind god of Earthrealm was seen to work alongside the monks, happy to chat with people and serve nice cozy warm beverages. On occasion, Fujin would retreat, and the soothing sounds of his shakuhachi flute was heard to drift from behind the table.

“It is, yes.” Isamu agreed, bowing as well. “If you have konacha with you today, I would very much appreciate a cup. And in exchange…”
Isamu opened his bag to reveal a wide selection of omamori, purchased from several of the temples in their world. Just as he’d done the year before, he brought back extras to share with their friends. Only this time, there were a lot more in the bag. They both had made a lot more friends.
“Perhaps a Shobai-hanjo, to bring your shop prosperity in the new year?”
Minoru, meanwhile, was pulling out his wallet. This round of tea was on him. “Any suggestions for something sweet? I’m in the mood to try something new.”

Family Sweet Station
white snowflake print cloths. A few platters of cookies and sliced pieces of pumpkin, apple, and banana bread. There were some baskets of things under them some with other wrapped treats when more folks started coming round.
She had a small table with some coloring and other utensils and pages etc on it.
Well away from her little ones sometimes reaching, curious hands in their stroller where she settled nearby them with a mug of coco which she gently blows on it. Checking on her three pups who she gave a soft piece of a treat to nom on. While their Daddy's making sure the area nearby is shoveled etc is safe for walking.

The Royal Jelly Menagerie
Three Danes
One sure way to get the attention of the Danes is sweets. All three of them love sweet, fruity pastries and foods. Soon they are bickering fondly over what to get.
It's Ansgar that finally looks up to the stall owner. "Which one of these pies is the sweetest?"
That is the moment all three notice the little creatures at the booth. Rik smiles at them. On his shoulder is a huge white rat with gray ears and in a little sweater and leash of it's own. He refused to leave Bonne behind.
