Wisdom begins in Wonder
She headed toward what looked to be a large building akin to something from back home, It was both an impressive and slightly comforting sight.
She scanned the area with her eyes, ears and other senses. Trying to make sure she was in the right place as she headed toward the stone steps. As well as keeping her eyes open for any hint or sign of her missing friend or any one who might know more about the nexus or other things of necessity and importance. Another part of her wondered if they might have a snack bar or vending machine that took the money she had on her as her tummy rumbled softly as she neared the large doors.
She wondered if there were a place for missing posters, and looked around for one as she cautiously looked around after poking her head in, looking for a desk of some sort. "Ahem, excuse me, but I was wondering if there was a form or something to apply for a library card? " She half asks a bit rambly and nervous all of a sudden. She wasn't exactly sure why but she was worried for Sherlock and was in need of some information and uncertain about where and when to get things in this ever shifting environment.

She knows the feeling, she does have her medical supplies and etc in a duffle as well as her backpack. With the stuff she usually took on patrols and quests. After all she'd been scouting ahead and looking for Sherlock. One never knew what, Ya might need.
She smiles warmly and chuckles softly. "Okey doke and thank ya kindly. " She replies eagerly and sincerely doing so within moments of hearing the instructions. She pondered how and when would be best to bring up a certain topic. Mayhaps this pin point device might be of help finding her friend.
Course she could always ask questions she supposed, what with her being new it was kinda expected right? While also keeping her ears and eyes open for necessities and clues.

"Let's see, it should be... here we go." A nearby printer has already spit out a new library card. "Um... if you wanted to do what you needed to do at the library first, I can wait." She's in no rush to scurry off to her stack of books, however. If she has to look at one more schematic for a ship engine she knows nothing about, her head is going to explode.
no subject
"Thank ya kindly." She pipes up automatically. She blinks and gives her a look of gratitude. "oh, alright. " She murmurs and tries to see what sort of systemic order things we're sorted into around here. A small idea niggled at the back of her mind. "um do ya happen to know if there's..some kind of announcement or bulletin board around here?" She asks warmly figuring if this was one of the standard landmark like places. Surely people would post information or you know looking for things and people etc somewhere right?
no subject
"Were you wanting to post something? Or were you looking for something in particular?"
no subject
"Ah yeah maybe a missing poster.. and or maybe something to do with plants or cooking. " She half states half asks. At the very least she wanted an herbs box.
no subject
"Like a gardening or cooking club?" That sounds rather nice, now that Adia thinks about it. Not that she's had time to do either, especially not while stuck on a spaceship. But wait, what was that about a missing poster? Her concerned look returns. "Are you looking for someone?" Somewhat softer and sadder, she adds, "It's, um... it can be hard to find people here. Sometimes you need to ask around."
And sometimes you never find them again. But she doesn't want to depress her new friend.
no subject
"Ah..aye perhaps. " Yes that would be a good networking and start to things. Her own eyes soften a bit as well. "Aye..one of my pals is a detective..I ran into him um a bit back..he tends to get himself into all sorts of scarps ya see." She explains. "he's usually good about ya know contacting and such if he needs help..it's been..longer than usual." She informs her a ting of worry in her voice. She nods in agreement. "Aye I'am planning on doing that some more too."
Best to cover multiple bases after all. Especially where Sherlock is concerned. Even if he's undercover somewhere he would likely leave some sort of clue or something for her to find or follow if he needed back up. He could be very dramatic sometimes.
no subject
"Oh... I'm sorry you haven't seen him in a while." It's a familiar story, one that makes her frown sympathetically. She's lost friends of her own like that. They stop showing up in the Nexus, and after a while their trail goes cold. "I'm afraid I don't know any detectives. What's his name? What does he look like?" It'd be pretty useful if she did know a detective, come to think of it. "Are you sure he's in the Nexus? He could have gone back to his world."
no subject
She nods softly, with a grateful look. "Thanks, oh ah, Sherlock he's bout six foot, dark curly hair, blue green eyes. " She begins as she tucks the card in her wallet and then opens her sketch book to show her a few pictures.
no subject
Not being from Earth or exposed to much Earth literature, the name doesn't ring any bells. The face in the pictures, though, is eerily familiar. Adia leans in a little, peering at the images, a small frown on her face. Didn't she recently meet a man who looked an awful lot like that? He was very... severe, however. Cold. Not the sort of person she could imagine Ash befriending. And he didn't say anything about being a detective.
"I saw someone who looked like him," she admits finally. "He was asking questions about revenge. He doesn't sound like your friend, though." Her eyes flick to Ash's and she shrugs apologetically. "That can happen here sometimes."
no subject
She wonders though not for the first time why exactly that seems to be. She has her theories though.

Tilting her head slightly, she adds, "Squeaky?"
no subject
She smiles softly and looks around with a soft chuckle. "Aye, that's my nickname for him. Cause of um one of his abilities. " She tilts her head and tries to scan her. Could she trust her with knowing? She didn't seem the mad scientist type.
no subject
She smiles a little at the thought of Ash calling this serious-looking man 'Squeaky'. It's cute and speaks a great deal to her affection for him. "His ability?" she gently questions. She is a scientist, as it turns out, but certainly not the kind to conduct crazy, unethical experiments. "He has a super power?"
no subject
She smiles softly, fond and nods a wee bit of a playful twinkle in her eyes. "Ah well some might think so though he'd tell you his intellect his is greatest asset. " Which wasn't untrue but he was most proud and sometimes prideful of and because of it. Though he'd gotten better bout it.
Mostly cause he had more friends and people in his life now that he learned and still was learning to care about and for. She glances about again and flips her sketch book to another section with various drawings, and asks in a soft whisper. "Can ya keep a secret?" She asks listening and looking for any sign or her not being truthful.
no subject
Considering that he's a detective, she's not surprised that he takes pride in his intellect. But that's something that most people don't bother to hide. She can tell that whatever his super power is, it's not something that should be shared lightly. At least, Ash doesn't seem to think so.
When she asks if Adia can keep a secret, Adia smiles. "I'd like to think so. I've been keeping the Nexus a secret for over three years now."
no subject
Her ears perk up. Hmm right well there is that. She ponders for a moment and turns the notebook so the sketches of a brown cartoon and real looking mouse with the sort of tweed outfit. That one would normally envision Sherlock Holmes to wear. "I don't know if yer world has Disney movies.. but hmm. I wonder if they have the Great Mouse Detective around here?" She half states half asks.
no subject
Her attention returns to the sketchbook as Ash flips to the pages bearing sketches of a mouse dressed in tweed. She's unfamiliar with Disney or a mouse detective, but it's easy enough to figure out what her friend's secret is. "He turns into a mouse?" She looks from the drawings to Ash, to be sure that's the case.
no subject
She smiles softly and nods. "Aye, he can be quite sensitive about it. But if he's hurt or somethings can make him act very mouse like.. and he's good at hiding. " She murmurs softly. And if he's hurt or scared back enough he could be stuck like that. And so many things could hurt or happen to him.
no subject
She won't assume that Sherlock is the same person as that unpleasantly cold man, at least. If he ever gets found. Which is starting to sound like a difficult prospect. If he's currently in mouse form, it'll be even harder to track him down. She worries at her lower lip, trying to think of something optimistic to tell her new friend. "What sort of places in the Nexus did he like to visit? Have you tried looking there?"
no subject
"Aye, true." She murmurs.
She rubs her chin, "Well, I thought he might be here or left some sort of clue. As we both like books and it's one of the er steadier landmarks..Last I saw him was in the UnderBelly..though during that..messed up battle." She infroms her softly, and looks both guilty that she couldn't do more. and then thoughtful. As she looks away her eyes going back and forth.
"Aye, um where any place with interesting things or possible cases...places with good cheese." She murmers after a moment.
no subject
The mention of the Khan invasion brings a sober expression to her face. "Was he hurt?" she asks in concern. "I was treating the injured in the Plaza, but I didn't see anyone like him pass by."
Places with interesting things describes about three-quarters of the Nexus, so it's not much of a lead. Her comment about cheese makes her smile, though. "Well, if we don't find any clues here, there's a cheese shop in the shopping district. I remember seeing it once when I was out with a friend." Adia supposes that if she were a mouse, that'd be a nice place to hide.
no subject
"Ah, I'am not sure he wasn't last I saw him but he.. does get himself into a lot of scrapes. He might have laid low somewhere and try and get supplies if he couldn't find someone right away if that's the case.." She states and swallows and looks concerned. "I hope no ones like caught him in something. " She states matter of factly he did have a history of getting kidnapped. "But then there's the..er safety field thing right? but then ..we've..seen how even that has limits."
She remarks slightly pale. Another reason she was here to find out what information she could. And maybe some folks who could be of assistance.
She'd been trying to rack her brain and search as well, but she could only cover so much ground on her own. And it wasn't like him not to leave clues..Or something. She had to keep trying to contact him in various ways she thought for the hundredth time.
She looks hopeful at that and smiles softly. "Well I'll certainly have to check that out..sounds lovely." maybe she could find some place she could bake some crumpets too. He loved fresh cheese crumpets and ginger-nuts. Plus it helped her work out her stress and perhaps have something to barter with and the like.
no subject
It's easy to sympathize with Ash's worry. Many people were injured that day. Many people died, their bodies still unclaimed. She's not sure anyone would want to kidnap her friend, but it's not outside the realm of possibility. "The anti-violence field," she confirms. She smiles at Ash in an attempt to be comforting. "It's true that it isn't perfect, but it is working fine now. And your friend is very smart, he'll know to stay in a safe area where he's protected by it."
She's glad that the cheese shop has cheered her up a little. "I've never been in," she admits. "It looks very nice, though."
no subject
"Oh well if yer sure." She states slightly surprised her currently wolf shaped ears under her hood perking up a bit.
"Ah.. good yes hope so." She murmurs hopeful he hadn't been distracted by something that was his equivalent of a 'shiny'
"Ah perhaps we could go together some time then?" She half asks half suggests. Rather preferring something like the buddy system especially in a strange place.
