+1 Doctor
The Doctor arrives in the Nexus. And he's not sure how he got here. Not that it matters. He has no TARDIS and no memories of Clara. All he has are the clothes on his back, his sonic specks, and his trusty guitar. Okay, he has a little rucksack filled with a change of clothes and other odds and ends that he's collected on his quest.
He looks around and this place looks... rather American, considering. Of course, everything looked American to him these days, he's spent far too long in the States looking first for the TARDIS and then for Clara. He so far has been unsuccessful at both.
"Excuse me, has anyone seen someone called Clara?"
{{OOC: The Doctor's Canonpoint will be in flux until I figure out which one is best for this setting. I'll make it clear in his threads.}}

"I haven't, but, I can help you look for her, if you like Mister."
no subject
"Well, if you haven't seen her, I don't know how much help you'd be."
Which isn't a refusal of the offer. The Doctor literally doesn't know who he's looking. Well, not entirely true, he has snatches of thoughts and ideas, but that's hardly helpful.

The title wasn't one he talked about. He had however, an impulse to help others whenever he could.
Someday I'll upgrade again...
The Doctor bites his lip at the request for information.
"Erm. There's a problem with that. I... Can't remember."
Which is why he needs help to find her.
no subject
Link looked thoughtful.
"Maybe she's looking for you too? What's your name?"
He figured he'd ask around and see if someone was missing their grandpa.
no subject
He offers a faint little smile.
"That would be nice, wouldn't it? I'm the Doctor."
He'll even hold out his hand for Link to shake it.

"That's a nice guitar you have by the way." Waylon compliments after taking a few seconds to notice it before looking at him.
no subject
"Time Lord. But not any I've met..."
Which isn't actually saying much. He just is that haughty. It's well-earned, he never quite stopped being Lord President.
"No. She... It happened before I got here."
She was just the one he was always asking about. He smirked down at his guitar. "Thanks. It keeps me fed and sheltered."
Since he's without his TARDIS, that's a big deal.
no subject
"Oh I reckon not yeah...are you one too? I'm the Balladeer but I usually go by Waylon. It's my alias on Earth," Waylon pauses after replying casually, listening to him. He didn't really expect to meet another Time Lord here in the Nexus. He wasn't sure how this encounter was gonna turn out.
He stands there still while giving him a friendly smile back, "You're welcome. I play the guitar too, I'm a singer in my universe." He explains, while also feeling bad for him. It sounds like he was going through some tough times.
no subject
"Earth alias? You mean... as a Time Lord... you spend time on Earth?"
This might take some getting used to. The Doctor is used to being the sole Time Lord interested in Earth.
"I can sing."
He prefers to play. Though... he's been doing the 'gig' scene, since he's been TARDIS-less and has a memory like Swiss-cheese.
"So, you must spend a lot of time on Earth to have an alias..."
Hint, hint. Tell him more.
no subject
"Yeah I do. I landed there in 1937 in an area called Texas with my son and then wife Jessi. We just escaped the Time War and I had my first regeneration not long after we landed. This is my second incarnation, I just like Earth enough to stay and have some kinda career, plus I liked the music that was playing around so I became a singer."
no subject
"And Time Lords do that sort of thing now?"
Where the hell had he arrived?

Grace hasn't been in the Nexus long, but she's met a few people already. None of them, unfortunately, are Clara.
"Do you know for a fact that she's here?"
no subject
"No, I don't know."
But he looks around...
"Come to think of it, I'm not even sure where 'here' is..."

The Doctor looks down to see the young-looking boy. "Too bad. Not that I really expected it to be that easy."
He pauses just to let the kid know he's changing topics. "What about you? Have you a name at all?"
no subject
"Damian Wayne." He'd leave out the rest of it, since really no one here seemed to know Father, and he doubted they'd know of his Grandfather too. "You?"
no subject
"I'm the Doctor."
He takes a look around.
"Any proper idea where we are?"
Look at him, probably not, but you never know where good information will come from, so repeating questions with different people never hurts.
no subject
"I'm not sure about the name of the place, but it's some sort of crossroads between different worlds." He hopes that makes sense. "And yes, I mean different worlds because I've already met some that aren't from mine, close, but things are a little different."
no subject
"Let's see... Last time I was asked that question, I said 'intestinal parasites.'"
Which wouldn't be entirely false, given the stress that 'monsters' put on people.
"Interesting. Usually that only happens in the Gaps. And gaps aren't actual places."

He finally lifts a hand out from his pocket, and he tilts his hat upwards so he can get a better look at who is speaking to him. "And if you can give me a description I might be able to help you find your Clara."
no subject
But he isn't all sure. He'll never be completely sure about Clara again.
"Can't give you a description, sorry."
He can't remember her, it's problematic.
no subject
Nick is just going to assume Clara is a person, and not The Doctor's pet turtle. If it is a pet turtle, Nick has no problem with feeling like an ass.
no subject
"She and I travelled together. But... there was an... accident. She's been deleted from my memory."
He taps the side of his head. No, he's not kidding.
no subject
"Now that is a problem. Not just your missing friend, but the fact that you somehow had your memories tampered with. And I take you don't remember who did this to you." He sounds concerned, really concerned.
"Is there anything you might make you remember her?" He's not a doctor, but the detective in him doesn't see any harm in trying to jar The Doctor's memory loose.
